On Tuesday this week we hosted a CPR and defibrillator training course.
All of our coaches are trained First Aiders, and this additional training gave our coaches, senior members, and parents the chance to refresh their skills and knowledge β something we hope never needs to be used, but could one day save a life.
Defibrillator and CPR training can give you the confidence and knowledge to act quickly if someone has a cardiac arrest.
Giving CPR promptly and effectively, alongside the use of a defibrillator, can more than double the chances of survival in an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
We have a shared-access defibrillator located at the rear of the Scout Hall across the road from the club. This is registered and accessible to the public using a code which can be provided by emergency services or our coaches.

There were plenty of tough fights, some fantastic throws and a great atmosphere throughout the day with our players all showing brilliant support for each other. They should all be proud of their performance!
We also had Michael Duff competing in the British University Championships down in Walsall placing an impressive 7th out of 36 in his category!

Cluarankwai Judo Club are sad to announce the death of Alex McIntosh.
Alex was 96 years old and was the last of the founder members of Cluarankwai Judo Club, (founded 1949).
Alex was involved in beginners courses and started the ladies section with his wife Joyce. He also coached the junior section from 1967 to 1970.
Always a character, he was also a professional magician and fire eater which took him away from Judo for a few years.
Alex and the other founding members paved the way for the club to become what it is today and their efforts are highly respected by everyone at the club.
