All good things must end - and this is the end for us - at least for now.

7 years ago when I sat in the Campsie Bar with Colin and Kevin, I couldn't imagine that a club then struggling to win and low on confidence would turn into such a great thing on and off the pitch.

We’ve given everything to this club over that time - late nights planning training, later nights celebrating and later nights than that finding players to come in and build a great squad.

It’s been a blast - fantastic fun - but recently the tide has turned against us.

We've never hidden from a challenge, never taken the easy route, and continued to choose to play in some of the hardest leagues against top opposition. We’ve made it to West of Scotland QF’s, League Cup Semi-Finals, challenged for titles and beaten some big sides along the way - a big regret will be never quite managing to line it all up to bring home a trophy.

We could have stepped away, chosen an easier league, chosen an easier system - gone trophy hunting - but we never did - and its been a heck of a slog!

More importantly - everyone involved can be proud of the work we have done off the park, supporting mental health organisations, helping lads beat their demons, supporting families through difficult times, standing together in grief and picking people up at their lowest - it was always about far more than football.

There are far too many people to say thank you to - but a few special mentions go to Eck Logie, Leon Brooking, Brian Cooper, Anton Oliver and Colin Fraser for their support, leadership and help.

Thanks to Kilsyth Athletic for welcoming us in over the last year - im sure ammies football will thrive again in the near future.

Finally to all the players - and their families - who have supported us in some pretty bad times and some very good ones - thank you and good luck in whatever you do next.

It’s been a blast

Brilliant fight from the lads today. To be bare bones after boys letting us down and be 1-0 down - and fight like fek to get a result - superb.
We know we've got much more to give and can raise our standards massively.

As we start back on 7th Jan away to EK we are looking to recruit some new bodies. It's a tough league, but its a great club with proper backing and top class training plus links with Saturday and WOSFL sides. Get in touch if you're of a decent standard with experience at boys or a good sat/sun level. Cheers Kilsyth Athletic

Boys were superb today - shakey first 15 mins, but after that, some of the pinging the ball about was filthy. Luis' 2nd goal was as good as anything you'll see any professional score this weekend.

Glasgow Caledonian United 0 - 3 Kilsyth Athletic Sunday Amateurs

⚽️Anton
⚽️ Smouty
⚽️ Baggins

MOTM - Baggins

Started strongly and took the lead early, 2 up by the break against a GDSFC Prem side so no complaints. Managed the game into the 2nd half, got a 3rd ans then rung the changes to ensure everyone got minutes in the cup.

Thanks to Glasgow Caledonian United for the game.

Match Report Update

Newmains 5 – 1 Kilsyth

A bad day at the office for the lads as they start the new season against one of the title favourites in Newmains.

After a narrow cup defeat earlier in the month, we knew we’d be up against a decent outfit and we didn’t help ourselves by gifting 3 of the 5 goals we conceded.

The boys hadn’t trained and we had a few playing injured to get the game on – but still fell well short of what we expect of ourselves

Bright spot was Jack Reid’s FK that got us back to 3-1 but we couldn’t capitalise.

Good luck to Newmains

Kilsyth 3 – 0 Kincardine

After a mid-week bollocking at training the lads turned up to the sportsfield looking like a different outfit from the week before.

A change of system that included a debut for Rico McGready at the back worked an absolute treat as he put in a MOTM performance.

Brian Cooper got us going from the spot after Matthew Bayne was wiped out taking a shot.

We then peppered the Kincardine goal before a fantastic team goal from Aiden Etherson

Into the second half and a few enforced changes broke the rhythm of the game up a bit

An excellent team breakaway saw Jack Haughey place a well worked finish into the bottom corner and seal all 3 points for Kilsyth.
