KFA 2012s

A spirited performance from our boys today as we welcomed Largs Thistle 2012s.
We laboured a little in the first half with lots of puff with not much to show for our efforts.

Brooklyn got us on the scoreboard just before the end of the half with quick thinking to head the ball home from close range.

The second half was much better and much more competitive overall. Aric took his goal really well and showed bravery taking a sore one in the process which unfortunately ended his part in the rest of the game.

Our pressure again paid off with high pressing to put pressure on the Largs defence and good work between Cole and Lyle ended with Lyle poking the ball over the line.

Vinnie kept the score line in single figures with some outstanding reaction saves. I had at least 3 Largs goals counted until Vinnie's finger tips somehow managed to tip the ball over the bar or past the post at the last second. A well earned MOTM.

Better communication in the second half and a strong attitude to keep going gave some encouragement despite the defeat.
Well done to Largs on a very good performance and best of luck for the rest of the season.

Our first home game of the new season welcomes Largs to our ground.

Match Day 2

Our lads looked determined from the first whistle today as we travelled down the coast to face Valspar on grass.
After an initial period of pressure from Valspar FC 2012’s we settled in making it difficult for our opponents.
A few areas showed promise and our keeper Vinnie kept us in contention with some strong decisions on 50/50 through balls showing bravery.and learning.

Our defence kept it together showing teamwork and communication which was great to see. An outstanding "never say die" attitude from Aric 💪🏻 earned him a well deserved MOTM for KFA in defence. Well done Aric you were great to watch today 👏

Second half started with a similar attitude from the boys but the KFA support commented on more than one occasion where the bounce of the ball favoured our opponents and made the difference on the outcome with Valspar taking the victory at the full time whistle.
A real improvement from last week and a wee bit more communication will see us kick on for the next match.

Well done boys on today's performance.

NEW SEASON - NEW LEAGUE - NEW PLAYERS

The team looks to be shaping up well, bolstered by a few transfer deals sealed over the closed season 💪

We're getting excited to start the season this Sunday with our first match away to Glenburn MWFC at the Oval Playing Fields in Prestwick. Ahhh the smell of fresh cut grass in the morning again 🤣

We'd love to see a good support to cheer on the teams 🔵⚪️🔵

A wee glimpse of our training sessions held on a Monday and Wednesday night. The players were giving 100% pre-season effort building confidence and strength.
We have space for a few more players and if you are interested in trying out please drop us a message and we'll get you down for a trial.

Training is on every week throughout the school summer holidays on Mondays (6 - 7PM) and Wednesdays (7-8pm) to help prepare us for the new season. We are looking to add to our squad of players born in 2012. Get in touch if you are looking for a new team for the coming season by messaging us through the page or our coach Martyn, directly.
