💚⚽️ Match Report – Priory Celtic FC U11 Girls

What a performance from our U11 Girls on Sunday, coming away with a fantastic 3-1 win!

The girls started the game really strongly and were on the front foot from the start. There was some great passing and dribbling, creating plenty of chances in front of goal for Heidi, Harper, Beatrice, Georgia, Penny and Jess.

At the other end, Sophie, Katie and Evie were fantastic in defence, making sure very little got through, and when it did, Lily was there to make the save.

Somehow, we went into half time 0-0! We weren't quite sure how we hadn't found the back of the net, but the message at half time was simple — keep playing the way they had been and the goals would come.

And they did.

The girls continued to do everything we'd asked of them, and around 10 minutes into the second half, some great link-up play between Harper and Beatrice led to the breakthrough goal.

We continued to defend well and work our way up the pitch, and the second goal was a great team move. Lily found Heidi, who sprinted down the right wing before playing the ball into the middle for Harper to smash home from just outside the box. ⚽️

The opposition pulled one back a couple of minutes later to make for a tense finish, but with just a couple of minutes left, Harper's shot was saved by the keeper and Georgia was there to gamble on the rebound and finish it off. 3-1!

Every single girl was brilliant and did exactly what we asked of them. It's fantastic to see how much this group is developing. After starting last season with some really tough results, the progress they've made is something they should all be incredibly proud of.

And Sunday's Player of the Match? All of them. We genuinely couldn't pick just one! 💚

💚⚽ Another win for Priory Celtic U14 Girls!

The girls travelled to Sandiacre Town Diamonds for their second Division 2 game of the season and came away with a hard-earned 1–0 victory.

Priory started brightly, with Lyla, Lilia, Kadie and Lily helping drive the team forward, while Amelia, Beth, Ronnie and Grace worked hard at the back. Esmae was called into action throughout and made some important saves to secure Priory’s first clean sheet of the season.

The decisive moment came when Alice was fouled in the box. Lily stepped up and calmly placed her penalty into the bottom-left corner to give Priory the lead! ⚽️👏

It was a fast-paced game, with Mollie battling well and Megan helping Priory keep possession, while the girls continued to create chances. Lyla came closest to adding a second when her effort struck the post.

Sandiacre pushed hard for an equaliser, but Priory stood firm right until the final whistle.

Priory Celtic U13 Girls 1–0 Southwell

Having drawn our last two games against Southwell, we knew this was going to be a massive test. They're a strong, fast team with plenty of ability, and they definitely made us work for it!

The first half was a real scrap. Southwell came out firing, winning the first balls and putting us under plenty of pressure. We also had to battle through a few injury disruptions, but the girls stayed incredibly resilient and strong.

Against the run of play, we managed to break the deadlock when Isla-Jean played a brilliant ball over the top and Violet tucked it away with real composure to make it 1–0.

We settled much better in the second half and started to control the tempo. Our forwards looked dangerous every time they went forward, with Amelie, Naomi, Violet and Priya combining beautifully to create some fantastic chances that were unlucky not to go in.

Southwell threw everything at us in the final minutes, but some brilliant saves from Isabella and some massive last-ditch clearances from the defence kept them out.

A proper, hard-fought win from the girls — everyone dug deep and fully deserved the result! 🏆

The sessions are back tomorrow, from 7pm–8pm at Kimberley School Sports Centre.

It's football training for all abilities, with plenty of laughs along the way and a chance to get some exercise too!

💚 Looking for a girls U14 football team playing Sundays? ⚽

Do you know a girl who loves football and is looking for a team? Maybe she already plays for a Saturday team and would like to play on Sundays too, or perhaps she's looking for a new challenge and somewhere new to play.

Priory Celtic U14 Girls are looking to welcome some new players to the squad for the 2026/27 season! 💚

The U14 age group is for girls born between 1st September 2012 and 31st August 2013, but we're also happy to hear from younger girls born between 1st September 2013 and 31st August 2014 who would be interested in playing up a year.
