Meet Maddy 🤩

At only 18yrs old, Maddy has been volunteering with Alive King's Lynn Gymnastics for over 3 years!

She is a former competitive Sports Acrobatics gymnast with a passion for helping to develop and support gymnasts through our various acro squads.

Maddy also volunteers weekly with our preschool classes, she has a positive approach to coaching and always makes sure our littlest gymnasts are enjoying their gymnastics classes as much as she did!

What an absolute super star! Go Maddie ⭐️

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Rosie 🌟

Meet Rosie, 73, one of our wonderful volunteers who joined us at Alive in December 2023.

After spending 25 years as a Fitness Instructor with an NHS Community Neurology Team, Rosie retired but still wanted to make a difference. Volunteering has given her a renewed sense of purpose, helped support her own wellbeing, an allowed her to continue helping others improve their health and wellbeing too.

Rosie loves being part of the team, saying that the friendly atmosphere, laughter, and support from both staff and members make every session enjoyable. She values the friendships she has made and the sense of belonging that volunteering brings, which has had a positive impact on her own mental health.

With her warm smile, positive attitude, and caring nature, Rosie is always ready to offer a listening ear, support, advice, or simply a coffee and a chat. She is passionate about supporting our members and helping everyone feel welcome.

You'll find Rosie volunteering every Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 9:00am to 12:30pm.

A massive shout out to two of our awesome volunteers for . Pete & Stuart are volunteer coaches at our Ability Counts Wheelchair Rugby League sessions for both beginner & elite participants. Their hard work has helped to put Wheelchair Rugby League in Norfolk on the map helping to get more people into the sport and increasing peoples awareness around it. Well done guys!

A massive shout out to one of our volunteers this week at Alive. Shane Franklin has been a volunteer coach within the community football programme during the 2025/26 season, and work hard to support is with sessions across various age groups. Through his work with Alive King’s Lynn Community Football Shane has completed his UEFA C certificate in Coaching Football at The Football Association. Well done Shane!
