Pelicans Hockey Club Juniors

4 Pelicans enjoyed a full weekend over at Burton upon Trent with Hockey Mentors on the High Performance Programme, developing as players.
Juan, Oscar, Mika and Will had their first experience of indoor hockey as well - some went flying over goalkeepers, some loved it and some still deciding - it was fast and new rules to learn. A very good weekend in the sun doing what they love; playing hockey.

Does this mean summer is nearly over..? ☀️🏑

Congratulations Eve on getting onto the Hockey Mentors Development Programme 2026/27.
This is a National Programme with plenty of opportunities to excel under other coaches / mentors.

Millie and Phoebe had a great day at Empower Hockey talent summer camp last week!

Well done to Juan who was recently awarded the Sport101 Norwich Academy “Goalkeeping Top Trainer Award”, as decided by the coaching team and goes to the player that has shown exemplary attitude to attending, asking questions, challenging other goalkeepers and ultimately improving over the course of the academy. Juan has been a pleasure to coach and deserved the recognition.

Two of our Pelicans, Pip and Eve, travelled over the weekend all they way to Burton upon Trent to trial for the Hockey Mentors Foundations Programme. The heat didn't take away their smiles. Best of luck for the outcome.
