-Thursdays session
Lots to take away from the session! Lewis having several 30’s in his line-up now. Harry completing a drill with reds and colours which ended on 33. I’m sure it won’t be long before we see a 50!
Introduced the training ball to our younger/newer juniors to get in good practice in hitting centre! (Very important before progressing on)
Billiards- Jamie recorded his highest match break of 26. Again, if he puts in extra table time, we should be seeing a 30! He recorded 120 at top of the table from 10 sets, which I’m sure will be beaten in the next few weeks after working on it more.
It’s good to see the standard improving from
Only a few sessions since being back. Hopefully the standard will only get better from here😁🎱

Very last minute coaching session yesterday! Martin who’s on holiday from Southend popped into the Maltings Q club yesterday for some practice but ended up having his first ever coaching session instead! 3 things to improve on during the session was-
Straight cueing/ hitting centre of the cue ball
screwing back
long pots
Straight cueing/ hitting centre of the cue ball we practiced following through the white with the blue from the blue spot ensuring we deliver the cue in a straight line, keeping the head still and pushing through the white rather then stopping once the ball was hit. Martin told me he puts unintentional side on the ball, by the end of the session he was hitting centre potting both blue and white into the same pocket. By doing this we shortened the distance from the bridge hand to the cue ball. When moving onto screwing back we started with a similar drill and stayed on the blue but basically reversing the follow through.
Long pots- we moved onto a drill which allows you to get used to the common potting angles (half ball, 3/4 ball, full ball and 1/4 ball) and finishing off with a break building exercise and making sure we stay high side of the black, which ended with a 54 break which his highest so far😁
By the end Martin had successfully improved on these 3 areas and was more confident with his game which was pleasing to see and hear.🎱
Anyone interested in 1 to 1 coaching then don’t hesitate to get in touch👍🏼

A good turn out in yesterday’s coaching session with 8 participants in total! To ensure we are not mixing to much we pair the juniors up and for the rest of the session they will be in that pair, allowing us to have 2 round a table. With such a different wide range of abilities it’s good to see each individual improving in there own little way aswell as 2 of our participants taking up billiards rather then snooker.
In the next few weeks we will be working on setting up/running billiards and snooker academy league between our participants which will include 2 x 6 red snooker frames and 1 x 30 minute billiards match which will consist over 12 sessions annually. Scores, breaks and league positions will be uploaded on here aswell as hopefully some websites too! This is a great chance to get the juniors playing more competitive games which overall will improve there game in practice and competition. 🎱🏆

2nd week back at coaching and it’s good to be back! With our players having around 6 months off, our main focus to start with is to make sure the participants are cueing correctly, hitting the cue ball in the middle unless side was needed which also means cueing straight. Making sure our stance is correct and trying to minimise any movement on the shot. And ofcourse just letting them have a feel to how it feels playing again. Pleasing to see all players very happy to be back on the green baize! 😁
The next junior coaching session will be on the 10th of September at the maltings Q club! We are welcoming old and new players to join our group! For anymore information please don’t hesitate to message this page or contact Rochy on
