What a Difference 5K Makes ...

Another great morning for King’s Lynn parkrun ad the 382 runners taking part. With 52 PBs showing today, 5 of which were in the first 7 runners to finish, the conditions had to have been good for everyone and well done all who took part.
Remember, if this week wasn’t a PB run for you, we will be there again next week for another try!
This week saw 9 new runners with us for the first time together with 40 first time visitors from such varied locations as Southampton, South London, Ashby De La Zouch, Ely, Norwich and North Carolina, to name just a few.
However, it’s a shame only half of those present for the first time choose to attend the First Timers Welcome Briefing. The briefing is important for all first-time attendees, however an experienced parkrunner they might be, as every parkrun is the same but different and it’s at that briefing when those differences are explained.
Well done runner from Runners Next Sea Tim Mardall first to finish in a PB time of 16.48 and Norwich City AC member Tia-Lilly Crane, first female to finish in a cracking PB time for her of 18.08.
This weeks Age Graded Hero was once again our very one Jane Ashby who finished in 26.48, giving her a grading of 95.58%. She was closely followed by our first finisher Tim Mardall, whose time gave him a grading of 92.26%.
Congratulations Dale Arlotte and Barry Ward both on their 25th parkrun, Lauren Field, Callie Sharpin, Jordan Peacock and Kirsty Slater all on their 50th, Steve Devlin on his 150th, Steve Eke on his 300th, Fabia Pollard on her 350th and Brian Black on his 400th!
A big, happy birthday also goes to our regular runner Julie Walker, who was having a steady run today before competing in yet another marathon tomorrow.
A big, happy birthday also goes to the Ryston Runners who were celebrating their 40th anniversary since foundation and can thank parkrun for the increase in membership over the years since it first started here in King’s Lynn just under 15 years ago. In that respect we will be celebrating our anniversary on 5th September when we will also be holding a 24 hour marathon details of which will be promulgated separately.
