🎾 Kingsteignton Tennis Finals Day — what a fantastic day it was!

Mixed Doubles went right down to the wire, finishing after three thrilling sets — huge congratulations to Toby & Sarah! 👏

George took home the Men’s Singles title, beating Matt in a great final.

Rachael & Becky were winners in the Ladies’ Doubles — brilliant play all round!

Well done to every single competitor, and a massive congratulations to all our finalist’s and winners today. Special thanks to our wonderful organisers — we couldn’t do it without you! 🙌

DEVON COUNTY SENIORS MATCH REPORT

Women’s 60s County Match vs Essex Played on Friday, 4th September 2026 At: LED Exmouth Tennis & Fitness Centre, Exmouth, EX8 3AE

Devon Team:
Nell Clotworthy, Victoria Goss, Julie Lee & Sarah Watson

Result: Rubbers 4-0; Sets 8-1; Games Devon 47 - Essex 24. Therefore Devon won overall.

Devon battled hard against a keen and competent Essex team in its fourth match of the season at home in Exmouth.

Firsts Nell Clotworthy (Avonvale) and Victoria Goss (Bovey Tracey) got off to a strong start which they continued throughout the match winning their rubber comfortably.

Second pair Julie Lee (Bovey Tracey and Cary Park) and Sarah Watson (Kingsteignton) were playing together for the first time. The partnership proved very successful and the duo enjoyed straightforward wins in both first and second rubbers.

The Home firsts faced a much-improved Essex first pair in the second rubber battling hard to win the first set before narrowly losing the second before securing a win in a championship tie break.

The hard-fought match was played in good spirits and marked a well-deserved first win of the season for the hard-working Devon Team.
