Top of the table clash today and Barham came out on top with an excellent performance showed grit right until the final whistle in such a tight game we now have only 5 games left and still remain top of the league where we intend on staying until the whistle blows for full time on the final game💙💛

This group of lads have shown massive improvements throughout this season and get better every week and when it came down to a tough game they knuckled down and did what they needed to do to grab them 3 points

🔵🟡Today the Barham lads took on the park run and smashed the 5k 👏🏻👏🏻to raise money for our club , they all did absolutely amazing completing it and should be proud of them selves some tired faces and even more tired legs I reckon this afternoon especially Riley Dolan who did an extra lap unintentionally 😂😂 well done mate , go rest fellas big game on weekend 🟡🔵

🟡🔵Today saw the Barham u14s take on Thorngumbald Barrons away 🔵🟡

One of the best games of the season certainly had to work a little harder today for our result.
Straight from the ko we got into the game all the lads putting the pressure on the opponents giving them minimal time to think about the pass and forcing errors constantly , we did take our eye of the ball a couple of times leading to the conceding of 3 goals but when we out score the opposition and win the game still these are minor things that we can take into our next training sessions.
A massive effort across the board from all today well done fellas👏🏻👏🏻

Fantastic effort from the lads today in a 5-0 victory for the Barham lads

Rather than saying something about the game today I want to say something about the players in this team as everyone of them deserves the appreciation.

Massive improvement from when this lad started he would put his self in unwanted situations and invite pressure and now he’s diving about darting out to the ball winning 50/50 challenges and asserting his dominance over players well done mate 👏🏻👏🏻

Well jay liked to open his mouth a bit to much and gets his self in trouble causing more problems in his footballing skills and Adrian quite the opposite not enough mouth , but that has completely changed Jay has concentrated more in his football and has drastically improved winning duels left right and centre and Adrian has become more vocal dropping off players to compensate for the lack in pace and become a better player for it well done lads 👏🏻👏🏻

These two lad last season where a bit all over the place and didn’t use each others capabilities to there advantage and now they are a great partnership covering each other more composed on the ball as apose to kicking it into touch and are developing in playing out from the back brilliantly well done lads 👏🏻👏🏻

These two are very different players to each other and last season lacked in different departments but this year what a turn around Riley getting stuck into challenges and even scoring when the chance comes and Harvey playing multiple positions and doing well anywhere running his socks off and working hard every game well done lads 👏🏻👏🏻

CDMs
Joseph, Jack L &Jack C
Joe has always put in 100% even last year but the difference now is that when he’s getting stuck in to win balls he’s taking the time to pick his head up and pick out a pass and also fantastic with long shots bagging his self a few goals from these, Jack L & Jack C new players to the team this season but are definitely making the improvements needing to slot into this already formed team and adding different elements to our game well done lads 👏🏻👏🏻

Riley O, Nojus, Jack Cope
Riley last year found it easy to make a challenge and then leave the ball thinking his job was done but this year has turned that around battling until the job is done and finding the right passes assisting goals and scoring them aswell, Nojus is playing a year up so is at a disadvantage he would lack the efforts last year but this year has seen him push a bit harder as he knows he’s competing with more physical lads and is doing well at that so far, Jack cope new to us again but you wouldn’t think so scoring goals , winning duels and playing his position to a T well done lads 👏🏻👏🏻

Wingers
Jake, Finley, James
Jake last year was easily knocked off the ball and sometimes took to much time on the ball leading to loss of possession this year for the smallest kid on the pitch is holding his own using his ball holding skills to his advantage and timing his passes much better , Finley last year very timid and didn’t use his ability very well but now he’s showing more confidence and getting stuck in more just needs to take advantage of his left foot (cracking power)let’s see it and James again new to us a returning from a bad injury getting involved more and more each week and you can see he knows his position well and nice and vocal shouting for the ball at every opportunity well done lads 👏🏻👏🏻

ST
Rhys Armstrong
Last year Rhys was scoring the goals no problem his downside was the rest of his game and when he wasn’t on the ball but now he’s making great runs dropping into midfield to help out when needed and using other players when the chance is better for them well done mate 👏🏻👏🏻

Overall what a great squad that just keeps on developing every week very proud of where they are now to last year you can see the hard work and determination from them all let’s keep going 💪🏻

A big shout out to Jamie Hairsine as well coming and getting stuck in as the new coach helping me out massively especially when I can’t be there the lads have come on a lot and your input is a big part to play in this I don’t see everything so what I will miss I know you’ll pick up. Me and the lads appreciate the time out in by you 👏🏻👏🏻

Today seen the boys take on a good team in Elloughton currently sitting in a good position in league above us.
The Barham lot did us proud today in an unfortunate loss by the fine margin of 2-1 but that didn’t come lightly as they through everything they had at this game but just fell short on the day.
We had plenty of chances to score but the final product just wasn’t there today and that’s nothing against our attack just purely down to good defending and keeping from the opposition.
A massive compliment from there coaches today also as they said we where by far the best team they’ve come up against this season and that speaks volumes as where a league below them👏🏻
A big effort put in by the 2 new lads today aswell just slotted into the team like they’ve been here from the start and adding depth to a forever growing team and now making there positions being challenged for, this will be a massive help as they all battle it out to get into that first 11 and push each other to be better.

Johnny Hairsine playing a cracking game stepping up a bit more each week but this week took it up a few extra levels covering the back line when he needed to pick up the slack , non stop grafting for his team mates and challenging everything thrown at him , taking that touch and being much more composed and completing all his passes with confidence👏🏻well done Johnny

🔵🟡barham v HESSLE🟡🔵

Today we met hessle u14s away , as the whistle went for the first half it seemed barham hadn’t turned up and was a little bit sloppy on the ball and this quickly led to us going 1 behind after about 5 minutes thankfully the lads saw that as a wake up call and started to move the ball around much better a string of passes and some good movement down the pitch seen Riley o through with a chance and he took it nicely putting it over the head and out of reach for the hessle keeper 1-1.
We then continued to step up our football and it was only a matter of time before we got our second coming from Rhys Armstrong which came from some great passing and a good assist.
We head into the break with the advantage.
Second half kicked off and a different barham was now on the field working hard on and off the ball from the keeper to the forwards and Jake seen his opportunity so stick a lovely little lofted through ball into the path of Rhys for him to lob the keeper in style putting Barham now 3-1 up.
That wasn’t enough for the lads they wanted to put this game to bed and not long after the 3rd goal Finley had his chance to have a go at goal on seized on the opportunity hitting the back of the net 👏🏻4-1.
We had a little wobble and allowed hessle to get a goal back closing the gap but in Barham fashion they didn’t drop heads they knew they needed another to make up for it and then the hatrick came for Rhys Armstrong making the final score 5-2 to the visitors 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Barham AFC under 14’s v Robin AFC under 14

So after a week out due to a postponed game it did show as we kicked off for the first half today the ball stayed in the air for long periods with the lads struggling to get the ball on the ground and moving around fluently and it stayed this way for around 15 minutes until a ball was cleared out by the robin defence straight into the path of Riley Dolan who stepped up and hit the ball from distance everyone stood and watched as it floated perfectly through the air seeing its way into the back of the net getting us off the mark and Riley’s first goal of the season ⚽️
Unfortunately we was unable to add to the first goal in the first half but we did manage to concede 2 goals putting us behind at the break

Quick chat with the boys at half time and a great team talk from captain mason saw the lads lift there heads and ready to get back onto the field to get this game turned around and that we did ,
They slowed the game down to a tempo that suited us passing the ball a lot better and linking up with each other with much more consistency it was only a matter of time before Rhys got us that equaliser with a superb finish and at this point you could see the team gain the faith that this game belonged to us as the continued to build on that score with the goals coming quick and fast from Logan Fitz and Rhys Armstrong who seem to have found a nice relationship on the pitch linking up well and feeding off one and other with 3 in total from Rhys and 2 from Logan we where well and truly coming away with the victory.
Inbetween them goals came a fantastic finish from todays man of the match Jake Scarbro
Who not only got that goal but was vocal all game letting his team mates know where he was and where to be , making some great runs on and off the ball well done mate 👏🏻
Apart from the odd errors and the shaky start today you can see how this group of lads are becoming a decent team working hard for each other and picking each other up even when behind really having a big impact on the results that they’ve had in the last few games 👏🏻👏🏻

So today saw the now under 14 lads take to the field again for the second competitive season and they started with a great performance playing at home against Tickton tornadoes.

Right from the off you can see the massive improvements made all over the pitch passing a lot more fluently and talking a lot more it really does make the difference in there game and we hope to continue building on this heading deep into the season.

I don’t want to pin point any players today as they were great collectively from the goal to the forwards.

Also this season we now have a second coach (Jamie) which already the additional input has reflected onto the pitch with the changes he’s added to training 👏🏻 this will be a massive help with the team from extra support for players individually to an all round better development of the whole squad.

Game result ended in our favour at 9-2 and a well deserved win well done fellas brilliant job today let’s keep this going 👏🏻
