Our club set a precedent that have inspired many others to imitate.

These 2 are the 1st to pass level 1.

Not easy and not handed out just for coming. Hard work and success.

Well done guys, more gradings to come very soon!

All of these dogs here absolutely revel and love their relationship with their handlers - and the group as a whole. Advanced obedience isn't about flashy stuff, that can just be the icing on top of the cake. It's about doing the little things really well and this means enjoying your dog and them enjoying their growing bond with you!

Here we have different breeds, different ages and dogs fulfilling different roles all working as a team.

Some are pets, some are family protection dogs and some are in training likely to be protection dogs or take on service roles for Government.

What they all have in common is growing together along with their handlers. This is a great group of dogs and handlers. We started Saturdays street session in Beverley with a few more young puppies who did the first hour. When they left for their puppy naps we set about doing more advanced stuff.

The idea here is that it's aleady difficult to hold a stay because town is rammed with people and dogs...we then throw in being sat next to multiple dogs and have more dogs walking around them in a circle.

These dogs love this game and we even introduced young Gulcan to it. She was totally tired by the end of the 2 hour session and I carried her around a fair bit by the end.

This kind of training is so enjoyable because people can physically see the culmination of their hard work every Saturday and during the week. Every single handler and dog here has their own story.

Many of you will now be familiar with Gunnar and Emma. From not tolerating another person or dog in an empty field to working in busy shopping environments surrounded by people and dogs. Not a single reaction, too focused on his mum!

Then we have Rottwieler Al, who typical of a male rottie is strong willed and stubborn. But he is time and time again excelling in this environment. And not captured here but doing trial style obedience.

Then there is Blue the #minaturepoodle. He first started in our General Obedience class and couldn't hold a stay, now he's doing it in some seriously busy and distracting environments.

All of the achievements these guys have made and will continue to make are down to sheer commitment and consistency of effort.

Effort really does equal reward!

We wasnt going to train today but had some itchy handlers wanting to blow away the Christmas cobs. So we ran a fairly short notice session and did just that. Managed to work a few of mine including some drive building for young Jet!

Cold but welcome to 2025!
