Are you really an equestrian if your car interior doesn’t resemble the inside of a stable?

As a mum of 2 kids, 2 Labradors, 3 horses and a full time freelancer travelling all over from yard to yard it’s safe to say the poor C-Max takes some serious abuse! From hay/straw/shavings and enough dog hair to make another Labrador to spilt coffee and fruit shoots the mess and stains was even too much for me to deal with.

Huge Thank you to Briggsy's Detailing service for coming out and sorting what can only be described as a dumpster fire.

If you need a professional clean at a fantastic price he’s the man for the job……but be gentle it’s been a month since he did mine and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s still traumatised 🫣

🎉 New online Dressage Winter league 🎉

The clocks have turned and the darker nights are creeping in, so why not have a go at Excel Equestrians new online dressage! Earn points towards the winter league where the overall winner and runner up will receive a championship rosette and sash as well as some fabulous prizes 🏆

Step one: Send your entries into Excel Equestrian Services with your name, horses name, address and which test you’d like to compete in.

Step two: Receive your entry confirmation and rider number. Send payment of your entry with your rider number reference.

Step three: Film your test in the leisure of your own arena (or field!) retake it as many times as you need and send your final video to Excel Equestrian Services.

Step four: Sit back and relax! Entries will judged by Trainee BD Judge, Ami. Results will be posted on the page, you will be sent your score sheet and those placed 1st - 6th will be sent their rosettes and prizes in the post!

Rules of entry
1. Entries made are non refundable unless Excel Equestrian makes the decision to cancel the event. Competitors will be contacted individually to arrange a refund or transfer entry to the next competition.
2. While it is not a requirement to wear a shirt and jacket or plait up (although there is a prize for the best turned out!), riding hats, gloves and suitable footwear are required. Any video entries made where the above attire is not adhered to will be automatically disqualified.
3. Tests must be ridden with clear and appropriately placed markers.
4. Callers may be used during the test but are only permitted to read out the movements.
5. View of both horse and rider must not be obscured during the test.
6. BITLESS WELCOME however headcollers are not permitted. Horses competed bitless must wear a suitable bitless bridle. Other bit and tack restrictions according to the BD rules must be adhered to.
7. Videos must not be cut or edited once the combination has started the test.
8. Any complaints must be made directly to Excel Equestrian Services within 1 week of results being posted online.

Been a funny old week for Rose Collins officially redundant in the old job no rest for the wicked though 🐴 Looch had a lovely hack and didn't implode because of the deer that seem to stalk us 🦌 Penny showed she's improving in her school work being a super girly 🥰 and Astreya yesterday in the icy weather had the best session she's had keeping all 4 feet firmly attached to the planet 🫶

My last night with the lovely ladies of DM Dressage Stud they have been an absolute pleasure to work with during this last week even with the miserable weather and I’m going to miss seeing them each evening. Such fabulous mares and an absolute credit to Dave and his team! Will hopefully see them again in the future 💜

End of a super busy week for both me and Rose!

I’ve had a full week with Hardmoor Stud caring for hunters, polo ponies, youngsters and keeping the yard ship shape as always, then to Withernwick for my Saturday afternoon with the stunning Mares at Otztaler Haflingers followed by looking after the mares for DM Dressage in Leven while their owners enjoy a well deserved holiday!

Rose had regulars Looch and Charles to exercise over in great Hatfield ft. Charles’s sleek new haircut also courtesy of Rose, then it was off to North Ferriby to continue working with Astreya as she begins her rehabilitation program.
