Barham AFC Yellows U13’s

Sundays Game in the cup saw us Drawn against Back to back champions and division above Barham Blues if that wasn’t already a Daunting task for the boys we had 3 players drop out on the morning of the game with illness and one away on Holiday leaving us with 10 men we did explain this to the opposition and they decided, and within the rules to still play with 11. Not something we would have done but that’s one for another day. We couldn’t be anymore proud of the boys who went out and gave it absolutely everything and dominated the majority of the game even looked like we were going to take a 2-1 win for a long spell of the game and having a perfectly good goal ruled out didn’t help but that’s football! As the game was drawing to a close the inevitable happened the lads fell just short tired legs few knocks and we let them in for 2 quick fire goals to eventually go down 2-3 gutted is an understatement but immensely proud of the group who were given joint parents man of the match and joint coaches man of the match 🤝👏👏

Sundays game was a very tight affair and a very rare low scoring game at our age group
We still beleive the full size goals are brought in too early but it is what it is. Both teams gave it everything and in the end was a very well fought 1-1 Draw chances at both ends some great saves from the keepers!! We are still finding our feet in this division but we are improving every week 👏 next up we have the impressive Barham Blues in the cup who will be a very difficult team to play against and a division above us.

Home game, this week we welcomed Peel street project

Against the team that pipped us in the play offs through penalties last season
In a very one sided half we failed to really take advantage early on but from the 20 minute mark we found some rhythm and ran out 4-1 winners still much to improve on but the boys are coming on leaps and bounds.

On to last Sundays home game against Beverley our 1st meeting with this team, game was very tight for the 1st 25 minutes with a bit of tweaking of positions and personnel but eventually ran out 7-1 winners
