🏃♂️🏃♀️ PHYSIO MYTHS... BUSTED! 🏃♀️🏃♂️
Putting off seeing a physiotherapist because you're worried what we'll say? Let's clear a few things up...
❌ "You'll tell me I need a new £300 pair of trainers."
Not necessarily. Good footwear matters, but there are plenty of excellent options that don't require a second mortgage.
❌ "You'll tell me to stop running."
Highly unlikely. Most runners want to run. Our job is usually to help you keep running, not stop.
❌ "You'll have me in the gym 5 days a week."
Most people don't have time for that. A few targeted exercises, done consistently, often works wonders. Whether that's at home, in the gym, or somewhere in between.
❌ "You'll just tell me I'm getting old."
Getting older is inevitable. Giving up running isn't.
We'll look at what's really contributing to the problem—things like training load, strength, recovery and mobility—not simply blame your age. 🏃♂️💪
❌ "You'll spend the whole session massaging my legs."
Sorry! We might use hands-on treatment, but understanding why the problem keeps returning is usually far more important.
❌ "The injury will just go away if I ignore it for another 6 months."
Ah yes... the runner's recovery plan:
Week 1: It'll settle down.
Week 8: It'll settle down.
Month 6: It'll settle down.
Month 12: Maybe I should get this looked at... 😅

Morning. I just wanted to introduce myself....or reintroduce myself. My name is Sam, I'm a qualified and experienced MSK physiotherapist and I will be back at Warners Health Club & Physio from Monday 1st June 2026. If you see me in and around the gym, please pop over and say Hi!
