I can’t actually believe that I’m writing this but Maisie (maysong) has been selected as a finalist to the showing world awards for the Veteran Horse Society Veteran Horse or Pony of the Year

Maisie to me is my best friend who gets me up every morning and I absolutely owe her everything and more.the fact people have put her foward for this award already so that she could make the final 6 is very heart warming that people think she is as special as I do ❤️❤️❤️

All she needs now is your final vote please could you click on the link below ,go to the Veteran Horse Society Veteran Horse or Pony of the Year section and select Maysong 25 if you think she deserves the crown 👑

Congratulations to everyone else who got through , all the horses and ponies are amazing and a real credit to the veteran world

I’m a little late doing a September round up it’s been non stop !!!!

Plenty of early morning exercise with the Red House boys🧡🧡🧡

Veteran Champs 2022 was great with Maisie and Bacardi. I feel like I have only just recovered it was very hard work with two horses trying to keep them and me clean !!!!

There is no other horse I would want to take home than my crazy old Maisie who still absolutely loves life. She has the shiniest coat and certainly doesn’t act or feel the grand age of 25 !!! I sometimes need to remind myself that she is that age. I’m still very lucky that I can ride her never mind compete her like I do ❤️
Friday we had a win in the Competition Horse
Afternoon we abandoned our classes as it was far too wet for a princess 👑 !!!!
Saturday we danced like a lady in the costume class but our highlight was doing the pairs again with my favourite person and Maisie’s favourite man 🤎🤎🤎
Sunday supreme day, 5th in the diamond veteran in hand and no place in the ridden which I was a little disappointed in as she went absolutely spot on but hey that’s showing you can’t win them all !!!!
Thank you too every single person who keeps Maisie in tip top condition not only so I can enjoy her in the ring but ride my fave girl everyday.
Thank youPureflax I mean look at that shine ✨ ✨✨✨
Not one single product on that coat and she shined all weekend

Bacardi also had a great weekend. He hasn’t been to a stay away show like that in quite a while so we wasn’t sure what to expect but he was a very good boy to win a few classes over the weekend including in hand part bred. No supreme for him this year but we might give it again next year and we have a few things to brush up on like learning how to stand still in the ring and make are figure of eight show perfect like moos 🧡

Thank you VHS team and family for another fabulous show

Then two days later straight on to HOYS to watch Nemo and pick up the gorgeous boy Butty for his trip to the NEC. He was such a star for a 4yr old, I think he could definitely be one to watch for the future. For now he’s back home for a rest and lots of fun to be had over winter🤎🤎🤎🤎

Dare I say the weather has been kind to us even if I do feel that winter is just around the corner 🍁🍂🍁 would be lovely if it stayed like this 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 …. Wishful thinking!!!!

This week I have been riding this little man who I haven’t been to in a while , his owner is on holiday so I have come to keep him going .
He has put the biggest smile on my face today he used to be abit spooky out hacking and a typical highland pony very stubborn so hacking on his own was abit of a issue never knew highlands could throw shapes till I met him 😂😂😂
Today out riding on are own we had every type of traffic you could Imgine and to top it off the bird banger went off right next to us within touching distance on the bridle track a year ago he would of said see ya later Laura I’m of home today he stomped on past it like no care in the world

Keep up the amazing work your doing with this boy 👏👌💙

Always makes your job feel worth while when they turn a big corner and they enjoy there job 🥰 ⭐️

Sorry I have been quiet on here I have been so busy just haven’t had the time promise I will get better ….

Just like that spring is here , which is lovely because it’s been a very long winter 🥶 🌿🌱🌞🐴

March has been super busy month we are preparing and practicing to get the horses out to some shows, which I’m super excited about as they all look super and there coats look so shiny coming out of winter thanks to pureflax.
I had a very exiting trip out in March for my first side saddle lesson with red and frank which either me or them had done it before they was brilliant and took it all in there stride, this year could get extra busy but I’m super keen to learn how to do it properly and see where it leads too!!!

Young Giles has also had two outings to closing meet where he was an absolute star and made me very proud to be riding him and the beach which he loved and took all in his stride he’s definitely going to be one to watch for the future 🧡 🌟 🐴

Maisie has had two teeth taken out as well Bacardi having one taken out so they have had a different kind of outing to rainbow vets .I’m sure they will be ready for a fun outing next .
I’m really pleased where both of them are up to with there work and look forward to some fun over summer.

Holiday season is upon us and I’m already starting to get very booked up with cover for people as well as my normal jobs so if you would like to get booked in , please give me plenty of warning 👌☺️

Roll on April I think your going to be a fun one!!!

January 2022 has been off to a great start 🐴🎉🐴🎉

We have had lots of frosty mornings and not much rain which the horses an I are loving ….hopefully a sign Spring is coming 🤞🤞🤞

The Red House boys have been doing abit more schooling to brush up on some of their rusty/weak parts. I’m super pleased how they are going at the moment and always trying their hardest.

Maisie and Bacardi still walking away !!!
🧡🤎🧡🤎
Maisie has had a trip to Rainbow vets for her annual teeth check and filling which she was much better for this time and recovery was better !!!❤️
Think she enjoyed her little trip out I think she thought she was off to a party!!!!

I’m also very excited that I have been picked as a Brand Ambassador for Pureflax team.
Maisie and Franks coat always look super shinny on the Pureflax oil. Therefore I thought why not give Red and Giles a go. In a week their coats are glistening (even clipped ) so super impressed with this result.
I have a discount code for anyone who would like to order anything they also do products for dogs too which are just as good 👌👌👌

I had a lovely week off at the end of January skiing. It is a much need rest feeling very refreshed and raring to go. It wouldn’t of been possible unless it was for Jo keeping our three horses going while we away so thank you 😍 and thank you for everyone who chipped in at the Red House looking after my favourite ginger boys 🧡🧡🧡

Roll on February, hopefully a few training trips , lighter nights and exiting times
🎉🧡🤎❤️🐴

I’m a big believer you only get out what you put in with horses especially young ones !!!
Today I was riding young Giles smiling away to myself thinking what a cracking young horse , came along a fallen tree no problem mum we can do this and then chased by a loose dog he just stopped and waited very patiently while it’s owner got the dog on the lead …. Then just carried on as normal.
Moral of the story allways be consistent with all your horses and hopefully when in sticky situations they will help you out ❤️🧡🧡
