St Mary's continued their impressive league campaign with an 11-1 win today, extending their 100% start to the season. Mary's handed a debut to Sam Brown at right back after a tidy performance in the reserve team last week, along with a return at centre back for Ben Bradshaw. A bright start saw St Mary's dominate possession and create numerous chances before finally taking the lead after 15 minutes and run in three quick goals, some of which were excellent team goals. The midfield duo of Vernon and Longlands were linking up superbly and creating lots of opportunities for wingers Jakijtis and Roberts and also forwards Braz and Istrate. HT 5-1
The second half saw a little bit of a sluggish start but it wasn't long before they were back into their stride and as the game opened up it only played into Mary's hands with space for Braz in particular to run in behind and add to his goal tally. Dennis Istrate scored a beautiful 40 yard lob and skipper Joe Farrah made it four goals in four games, not bad for a centre half but the team all contributed today. Final scoreline was 11-1, Istate x5, Braz x2, Farrah, Roberts, Vernon and Jakijtis all contributing with goals but there were some excellent displays from many of the lads.
MOM went to Callum Vernon for a very accomplished performance in central midfield, making good decisions in possession and helping the team play out from back and through the thirds.
Well done lads!!

St Mary's progressed into round two of the AOC National Colleges Cup after a superb second half performance saw them run out 5-1 winners against Minsthorpe College. One down at HT, Mary's came out with much more urgency in the second half and duly got their reward with goals from man of the match Jakijtis, istrate, Braz, Roberts and Farrah.
This was an excellent display of character and work ethic with many of the lads putting in excellent performances. There is still lots to work on and the lads must keep working hard and wanting to improve each session/match for the season to become rewarding.

St Mary's started the season in emphatic fashion with a comprehensive 9-0 victory over ECSF (Scarborough) at the Flamingo Land Stadium. Goals from Istrate (2), Roberts (2), Jakijtis, Vernon, Kettlewell, Braz and Isoko ensure the blue army got off to a flying start.
The new management team of Ezard and Smith were particularly pleased with the shape and discipline throughout the game along with some superb football, playing through the thirds and creating chances throughout the game.
Plenty of positives for the first game together but lots of improvements to be made and tougher tests to come no doubt.
