Our ๐ท๐๐๐๐๐'๐ ๐ท๐ถ๐ป๐ด voting has reflected the team display on show last night with the narrowest of winners. Step forward Mr Fahrenheit, faster than the speed of light himself - Jamie Dodd with 5๏ธโฃ nominations! Doddsy notched up three fantastic individual strikes, one of which was a volley that may never be bettered on the sacred University turf in terms of connection. A work rate up top and the skills to match. Well done, JD!
Honourable mentions go to between the sticks and Sam Nicholson at CB with 4 votes each, who both had huge impacts in their respective areas of the pitch.
It's truly heartwarming to see so many players thriving in the Staff shirt, expressing themselves individually but equally working together effectively too. ๐๐๐ค

An evening of real steel and determination on show from the Staff FC squad, as they eventually prevailed against a well drilled Northern Wanderers Vets first team.
Despite a couple of dropouts before the game and some more keeper cameo heroics from ,the Staff squad were well in the game throughout the fitst stanza, even taking the lead as goalpoacher Jamie Dodd reacted first to a brilliant save from the keeper after a penalty was given, arrowing his effort into the bottom corner. Typical of a veterans team, the Wanderers wouldn't go away and they eventually went 2 - 1 up. Fresh from his game yesterday, .ig then put the afterburners on to go on one of solo missions down the wing past the last man, into the box and rifled his effort past the flailing keeper just before halftime.
The second-half remained firmly in the balance as both teams traded glancing blows with little follow through. However Wanderers limbs began to tire and so did patience levels it seemed; enter the arena at this point Jamie Dodd! Doddsy was on hand to do his best Robin Van Persie impression, meeting a great cross in the box with a volley even the great the dutchman would have been proud of. This was quickly followed by another effort inside the box that absolutely rippled the top corner of the net, despite the keeper's best efforts to collect the match ball tonight. An assist from Brandon Willingham to Ben Oliver in the box allowed our onrushing and limping CB to unleash a striker's finish into the bottom corner which was the icing on a very sweet Staff cake.
Our ๐ด๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ด๐๐๐๐ went to CB Sam Nicholson who really did meet and greet anything that came his way tonight, whether it was a challenge or keeping his opposing man in deep convo. A real combative effort that we've become accustomed to. Well done, Sambo!
We thank our referee and opponents, who really showed their experience on the ball at times, giving us a real test of our credentials. However ultimately that combination of adapting, resilience and trust in each other allowed the Staff squad to unleash some very tidy play and finishes. ๐ค๐๐ค

Welcome to the weekend Staff FC fans! Summer holidays maybe be in full flow but the UoH cult heroes are certainly not feeling the heat recently. Our mantra has always been to remain to keep calm and carry on regardless and while it's stood us in good stead, we'll be hoping for a strong start against new opponents in Northern Wanderers Vets.
We're familiar with the Wanderers name from when they've strolled into town before but we're sure the first team will bring their A-game.
The question is can the Staff FC squad keep their cool and ice those key moments? Remember, it's never dull at the University of Hull turf. ๐ฅถ๐ค๐

The ๐ท๐๐๐๐๐'๐ ๐ท๐ถ๐ป๐ด votes are in and the recognition will be split in two tonight with a mammoth 5๏ธโฃ votes each going to both .ig & Thomas Dixon.
Temi's goalscoring exploits continue to hit the headlines. Some fantastic awareness, positioning and a ridiculously low amount of time to get from 0-60mph ensure he's always in the reckoning. Last night was a clinical reminder of the damage he can do if you give him an inch of turf. Less said about the interpretation of the offside law...
Meanwhile Tommy Dixon was in the thick of it at CM, proving once more that time is just a construct as he always had bags of it on the ball. Off it he was busy putting in a defensive shift, using those extendable legs in the tackle to full octopus effect. Well done lads!
Two players in different areas of the pitch but no less impact. A shared vote is a reflection of last night's team effort to turn the scoreline around. ๐ค๐๐ค

Back to winning ways for the Staff FC squad in a game that started with a little adversity as our lively visitors took an early 2 - 0 lead. Like the Bullet train they took their chances but after a few tight offside calls, to continue the locomotive theme; the Staff pistons started firing like the Flying Scotsman in all its glory. Step forward man of the hour .ig who got his side back in the contest with as many as 4 goals, either side of another Wareham Forest AFC effort, with a combination of well timed runs, pace and clinical finishing. Callum David Thompson joined the party after Dave put him through with a great aerial ball, our No32 timing the run and lob over the keeper to the chimes of Big Ben.
In true Staff style, we'd turned a little trepidation into an opportunity going in 5 - 3 up at the break and despite a complete change of lineup and injury for the Wareham squad, the Staff momentum continued to grow like the Mallard on a one way journey. Temi bagged a couple of more with quick feet, before great teamwork from the onrushing Oladapo Idris down the middle with Thomas Dixon ensured some pass the parcel football eventually allowed Berbatom to stroke home from close range. It wouldn't be a ludicrous display of attacking play without an appearance from Brandon Willingham, including a devilish cross cm shot and a cheeky chip from close range, before firing another in for the hattrick. Brother Sam and Thompson would be agonisingly denied by the crossbar but the victory had long been confirmed.
Our ๐ด๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ด๐๐๐๐. Stop the press; let's talk about 6๏ธโฃ, Temi! He makes it look so easy but we know the skill it requires to score so consistently and he did it when it mattered most. Well done young man!
We thank our opponents who showed flashes of genuinely great play and wish them well for their season ahead. Perhaps 11 goals on the board was rather apt as it was a display of teamwork from everybody that allowed the Staff FC Express to gradually gather momentum. ๐๐ค๐

Football may be taking a much welcomed break on the global stage but the Staff FC roadshow continues this weekend!
As we head into the second half of the year it's been another period of growth on the pitch. A sprinkling of new faces alongside our mainstays means the club continues to thrive.
On Sunday night we welcome Wareham Forest AFC back to Staff HQ and just like time out, we expect it'll be another tightly contested affair. Nonetheless consistency is key and it'll be business as usual for the Staff FC squad! ๐ซก๐ค๐

It may be a weekend of rest but we've got a ๐๐๐๐๐๐ celebration in the Staff FC house...
๐ Firstly we pass on our congratulations to CDM maestro Jon Steed and his good lady wife Siobhan, who recently tied the knot. We wish the happy couple a lifetime of happiness and Siobhan a no guarantee warranty on IT repairs and witticisms!
๐จโ๐ผ Secondly it's a huge congratulations to our loyal man between the sticks Elliott Sanderson and his partner Lorna, as they welcomed their baby girl Imogen into the world this week. Good job old Pinkie is a dab hand in catching and hanging on to precious cargo already. We hope mum and baby are settling in nicely.
๐ Finally we pass on our congratulations to
who yesterday graduated in Sports Coaching and Performance Science under the name of our proud institution. If we didn't know it already, proof that this lad is a baller both on and off the field in relation to the beautiful game. Well done, Big Sham.
Lots of milestone moments happening within the squad this week but equal amount of celebrations to be had. Well done once again to those men! ๐๐ค๐

The ๐ท๐๐๐๐๐'๐ ๐ท๐ถ๐ป๐ด votes have been counted and in a closely contested battle, the gong narrowly goes to CB supreme Mark Felgate. Felly had a busy night at the back with his partners in dark arts Ben Oliver & Sam Nicholson but he was a beacon of strength throughout.
Despite his ailing hamstrings probably feeling the burn today, Mark continued to demonstrate his burst of pace in a back line foot race and several well timed challenges to boot.
The Student Central Sammer's game is built on strength and timing. With those attributes in a defence, you're always going to be in the contest. Well done, Felly! ๐ช๐๐ค

A tough night at the office for the Staff FC squad as they eventually fell to an 8๏ธโฃ - 5๏ธโฃ defeat against a well drilled Cott Massive outfit.
Whether it was post England celebration hangovers, the heat or a bit of both; the home side found themselves 1-0 down quicker than you can say 'it's coming home'. Typical of Staff resolve however, they quickly bounced back, firstly through a Brandon Willingham strike on the break, before a pin point corner and pressure caused the keeper to spill the ball into his own net. After a bright 20 minutes or so, Cott started turning the screw with possession and stand-in Staff stopper was called into action several times. Nevertheless even his heroics could only do so much as Cott found themselves 4-2 up at half-time, but not before Paul Thorpe had an effort harshly ruled offside.
Half-time came and went with Andy Barker embracing a combination of the Braveheart script and his inner Brian Blessed to rally the troops. It seemed to work as Staff launched an unlikely comeback at one stage. Willingham grabbing his brace, reacting first to a ball off the crossbar, before marked his comeback from injury with an instinctive strike in the box. Ben Oliver had time to pick a corner with his free kick just outside the box and the rest as they, is footballing history. At 6-5 down the Staff momentum was strong but sadly Cott Massive put the game to bed in the latter stages with a couple of more goals.
Our ๐ด๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ด๐๐๐๐ went to Mr Versatile himself Jordan Smith , who threw himself into the game with some well timed challenges. Well done, Jord! Tonight marks the end of a long winning run for the Staff squad and our opponents thoroughly deserved their victory but like England last night, that mentality to dig in for each other can never be questioned, whatever the outcome. ๐ช๐ค๐

We're riding on the crest of those feelgood England vibes going into a match weekend as we welcome another new club in Cott Massive to our hallowed turf.
England's efforts during the tournament have been just as big. A combination of pure ability, effort and resilience in the face of adversity. In our own way, the Staff FC experience is built on a similar approach.
Speaking of adversity, we welcome our very own back to the fold after injury. They say that the comeback is bigger than the fall. That was never in doubt with Big Sham's ethos. Let's see what Sunday night brings but in the meantime kickback against the heatwave, open the Doritos and watch the World Cup action unfold. ๐ช๐ค๐
