There were certainly no Bank Holiday hangovers on display last night as the Staff FC squad put in a real shift to dispatch 5๏ธโฃ - 1๏ธโฃ.
Despite a dubious early penalty decision in the favour of our opponents, a Staff side low on numbers certainly didn't lack spirit and it wasn't long before was up to his old tricks, with two tidy finishes. This was backed up by the lively , who scored a brace of his own, before a fifth goal sealed the victory. The Legends began to show their frustrations, perhaps exacerbated by some experimental positioning but typical of the Staff squad ethos; composure, hard craft and a little magic in the final third were key to bringing home the win.
On to our inaugural ๐ด๐๐๐๐๐๐ award and it goes to Idris, who was at the centre of all things creative when it mattered most. Well done to that man!
We thank Matt's Legends and our referee. In true Star Wars style, May the 4th be with you as it was for the Cadbury Bars last night. ๐ช๐ค๐

It's a Bank Holiday bonus this weekend as the Staff FC side face off against , an established charity team who continue to raise lots of money for great causes.
The Legends have a slightly different approach to this game, as their squad are picking positions out of a hat. Can the Cadbury Bars catch them off guard with an industrious performance?
Thanks to we'll hopefully be drinking from our very own mug of victorTEA. โ๐ค๐

Sunday's game had plenty of action on the field but there was sadly one lowlight. In the act of opening the scoring for his beloved Cadbury Bars with a very tidy strike, Samson Adigsolla unfortunately fractured his ribs as he unleashed the effort on goal. Visibly in a lot of pain, our attacking outlet left on a stretcher with immediate concerns. Thankfully after receiving quick and thorough medical care, he's feeling much more comfortable.
Samson's pace, panache and sheer brute strength will be missed down the wing, as will that familiar smile but we know he'll be back when the time is right.
Football is an important outlet, but it has a habit of reminding us every so often that the health and welfare of our teammates surpasses everything else.
Wishing a speedy recovery to the man who put 'Sam' into Samba rhythm on the pitch. Next time he'll hopefully actually witness one of his super strikes flying in! ๐๐ค๐

Today we share a little love for the last line of defence as it's International Goalkeeper Day!
Whether it be throwing themselves at the feet of strikers or jumping into the action at corners, the following Cadbury Bar heroes have donned the gloves for the cause this season:
๐ฆธ Elliott Sanderson
๐ฆธ Andy Barker
๐ฆธ Will Witter
๐ฆธ Jack Baldwin

Proof that no matter what ability or agility between the sticks, that commitment to the club cause always shines through. ๐๐ค๐

In the iconic lines of Barry Davies - "Look at his face... just look at his face!" The ๐ท๐๐๐๐๐'๐ ๐ท๐ถ๐ป๐ด votes are in and it's double delight for man of the hour - Matty Craven, who scoops both awards from this weekend's game, receiving 6๏ธโฃ nominations from his teammates.
MC was tasked with a slightly more adventurous role at CM and he didn't disappoint, bagging a well taken brace and literally shed a bit of claret for the cause, putting his knees where the boots were flying.
Well done, MC. Dig out the Persil and get that Staff FC home shirt in a warm wash son. ๐๐๐ค

There was no separating either side in what was a very spirited 3๏ธโฃ-3๏ธโฃ draw between two well matched teams.
A cagey opening to the first half was eventually followed by a breakthrough as Samson Adigsolla but his quick feet to good use with a superb strike using the outside of the boot, clipping the underside of the post for good measure as it rifled in. Sadly it came at a cost as he injured himself in the act of scoring. After a break in play for the injury, Wednesday Night Lot responded with an effort inside the box. The second half got off to a flyer for the Cadbury Bars, as makeshift striker Matty Craven burst away from the defence, one v one with the keeper, before clipping his effort into the far corner, copping a wack to the knee for his troubles from the on rushing stopper. The WNL side responded once more with a superb effort from distance, before Craven was at it again, firing a hard & low strike from just outside the box past the despairing keeper. Resolute stand-in stopper and first aider Andy Barker had a 'fists of fury' moment with his opposing man in the box and a penalty was given, WNL making no mistake with their opportunity to tie the scores once more, as the referee shortly after blew for full-time on a game he had to manage carefully at times.
On to our ๐ช๐๐
๐๐๐๐ ๐ฏ๐๐๐ award and it had to go to the boy with the brace - Matty Craven, the woodwork only denying a near certain third. MC was everywhere on the field tonight. Finally and most importantly the Staff FC squad send our well wishes on to Samson, who suffered what looked like a nasty upper torso injury in scoring his beautiful goal. We hope he makes a full and quick recovery. The squad are with you. ๐ช๐ค๐

Spring has sprung and like those green shoots slowly appearing in the gardens, the Cadbury Bars are showing plenty of growth on the field throughout 2026 thus far.
The ๐บ๐๐๐
๐๐ ๐ต๐๐๐๐ ๐ณ๐๐๐๐๐ experience welcomes the Wednesday Night Lot back to the hallowed turf of dreams. Our opponents have developed a bit of a Crazy Gang Wimbledon reputation over the years minus a Vinnie Jones or Robbie Earle figure; unfashionable and thrown together from all walks of life but certainly not lacking in ability or cohesion. We're sure this will be another intriguing match up.
It'll soon be time for the Staff FC machine to launch back into action. ๐ช๐ค๐

Staff FC HQ are wishing a very Happy Birthday to . Though the cheeky goal poacher may have moved on to new Yorkshire pastures, the sounds of his finest strikes rippling the net and creaking of fragile hamstrings in full flow still allegedly echo around the University 4G.
We hope Ollie has a great day and rumour has it the Staff FC Boardroom are trying to lure him back for a testimonial. We will pay handsomely with the finest discounted Cadbury Easter Eggs around! ๐ฅณ๐ค๐

Some seasonal windy weather didn't deter the Staff FC squad from digging in and delivering a hard earned 4๏ธโฃ - 2๏ธโฃ victory against a spirited Men United outfit.
Our Hornsea based opponents played tidy football from the beginning and simply would not go away. Only a little bit of individual brilliance and raw speed from and .ig, as they both collected a brace of goals each, probably made the difference. Men United remained in our rearview throughout, with a second half strike, followed by a little bit of Laurel & Hardy from the Staff backline to make it two. However the Cadbury Bars showed great composure to close out the game.
On to our ๐ช๐๐
๐๐๐๐ ๐ฏ๐๐๐ & ๐ท๐๐๐๐๐'๐ ๐ท๐ถ๐ป๐ด gongs and both went to Brandon Willingham, who despite getting a close examination with tackles, rode the challenges like it was Maradona in '86 all over again. Well done, Willo Jnr! Honourable mentions for CB pairing Matty Craven & .i.am7311, who mopped up more leaks than the milk aisle at Tesco.
An enjoyable game for all involved and a battle to the very end. Thank you to our opponents and referee on the night. Sometimes it's about digging in and doing the basics well to help bring home the victory. ๐ช๐ค๐

Staff FC HQ are wishing a very Happy Birthday to young gun - . A very able keeper and tenacious wingback to boot, Will has been a shining example of where hard work can lead you, going on a successful academic journey with University, as well as playing a pivotal role within the Hull FC set-up. Speaking of rugby, whether it's in goal or outfield, until you've been 'Will Wittered', you don't know what a challenge truly feels like.
We hope WW has a cracking day and if you're ever in need of a tennis coaching session, we know a guy. ๐ฅณ๐ค๐
