AFC Preston Ladies and Girls

The U9's Elloughton tournament.

Personally I thought there were some good individual performances, however for whatever reason we just couldn’t get going going forward.

As has been the way all year, our girls always seem to take 10 minutes to get going, and in tournament football the time has gone.

However, positive notes, earlier on this year we wouldn’t have been able to hold our own against some of those teams so in that regard we’ve come a long way, and to be fair our girls seemed to be having fun with each other on the sidelines, It's great to see that they seem to have a nice bond.

We go again in the next tournament on the 20th.

Well done to all the U12 girls today at Elloughton. Finished second in their group and made it to the champions final. Absolutely outstanding effort from all the girls today.

In true Preston fashion, we started slow but gained momentum with each game. Getting all the way to the final playing against some quality teams made up of academy and county level players is massive achievement. In the final, we played the great football but it was Barton's day.

So proud of all the girls today and sets us up nicely tomorrow for the Hull United tournament 👊

The U8's had an enjoyable day at the end of season Festival today. The heat was intense but so was their effort. The girls started very strongly with a goal in the first minutes. The girls passed well, spaced out well and defended well especially in the first 2 games. Over the tournament the girls scored 13 goals-
Daisy 9
Leah 2
Isla 1
Victoria 1

Two Luna's and Victoria put up great performances in goal whilst Edie was solid in defence.

Player of the day was Daisy who ran with speed and determination winning the ball in all areas of the pitch and calmly slotting the ball past the keepers.

Luna W was runner up showing a massive increase in her confidence as the games progressed. Good saves and tackling well.
