🌿🔨 Today, whilst getting everything ready for our Home Educators Social, one of the children spotted the tools I had out and became very interested! 👀🛠️
Well, I couldn't leave him out, could I? 😄
So, the two children who joined me spent some time hammering 🔨, drilling holes with the palm drills 🪚, and creating their own wonderful wooden creations 🪵✨.
It was lovely to watch them build confidence, develop new skills, and take real pride in what they were making 💚. Sometimes the best learning opportunities happen completely by accident and are led by the children's own curiosity 🌱.
There's something so special about giving children the chance to use real tools, solve problems 🧠, and create something with their own hands 🙌.
A lovely little afternoon of creativity, learning, and plenty of smiles! 😊🌳🍃

🧪🌈 SCIENCE, ART & FIRE COOKING! 🌈🧪
What an amazing Home Educators session we had this week! 🤩
The children discovered the magic of chemistry by creating their very own natural indicators from red cabbage 🥬 and white onions 🧅. They carefully prepared the ingredients, learned how to safely use the stoves to boil them up, and watched as science came to life before their eyes! 🔥
Next came the exciting experiments! By adding lemon juice 🍋, vinegar and bicarbonate of soda, the children explored acids and alkalis whilst creating a stunning range of colours through chemical reactions. ✨🌈
Once their colourful potions were ready, they poured them into spray bottles and transformed plain white items into beautiful, one-of-a-kind tie-dye creations! 👕🎨
The session was packed with hands-on learning, problem-solving, creativity and lots of curiosity... and of course, no Mighty Oaks session would be complete without a tasty treat! 🍪🔥 We finished the day gathered around the fire enjoying delicious cookie dough cooked over the flames.

🧪🌈 HOME ED SCIENCE & TIE-DYE ADVENTURE! 🌈🧪
This Friday, we're mixing science, creativity, and a little bit of magic! ✨
Did you know you can create beautiful colours using nothing more than 🧅 onions, 🥬 red cabbage, and SCIENCE?! 🔬
🎨 We'll be making our own natural dyes and using them to tie-dye fabric to create unique masterpieces!
👦👧 Younger children will be amazed as colours magically change before their eyes! 🌈✨
🧑‍🔬 Older children will explore the fascinating science behind acids and alkalis, discovering why these colour changes happen and carrying out their own experiments! 🔬💡
