Jessica's cycle challenge for Dove House Hospice 27/05/2026

🚴‍♀️ An incredible achievement by Jessica! 💙

Jessica — the sister of one of Kingston Kayak Club’s most active junior paddlers, Sebastian — has just completed an amazing fundraising challenge for Dove House Hospice.

Over 4 days, during what has been the hottest May on record, Jessica cycled an incredible 190 miles from Southport to Hornsea along the Trans Pennine Trail. ☀️🚴‍♀️

That is a phenomenal effort in extremely tough conditions, all to raise money for a charity that provides vital care and support to families across our area.

Many of you will remember Sebastian’s brilliant Children in Need paddle challenge, and it’s fantastic to see the same determination and community spirit running through the whole family. 👏

WOW. We are officially FULL for the Joy Davis Hull International Canoe Polo Tournament 2026! 🚣‍♂️🔥

A massive THANK YOU to every team that has entered this year’s event. The response has honestly blown us away.

It’s funny really… we still remember the days when we used to panic about whether we would even get enough teams to run the tournament. Now we find ourselves in the position of having to turn teams away, which is something we never take lightly.

We genuinely wish we could accommodate more teams, but our volunteers are already stretched putting up FOUR full-size pitches and making sure the event runs safely and smoothly for everyone involved. 💪

To everyone attending — thank you for supporting the event, the club and the volunteers who make weekends like this possible.

📩 Event information packs, camping details, schedules and further updates will start being sent out over the next week, so keep an eye on your inboxes (and spam folders just in case 👀).

We can’t wait to welcome you all to Dacre Lakeside Park on 4–5 July 2026.

While our polo teams were battling it out in Sale, the Berriman family were representing Kingston Kayak Club at the Division 2 Canoe Slalom race at Holme Pierrepont National Watersports Centre this weekend! 🚣

Olivia had an awesome first day on the water, putting together a brilliant run and finishing 4th in her class 👏

Most importantly though… she managed to beat her dad! 😈😂

Great paddling and fantastic family rivalry on display! 💪

Kingston C & B were back in action this weekend at the National Division 2 North tournament! 🌧️🌤️💨

A real mixed bag of results across the weekend, but both teams dug deep, battled hard and kept paddling through some very changeable weather conditions.

Plenty of positives to take away, lots learned, and great effort from everyone involved. Well done all! 💪🚣

Great to be back on the outdoor pool 🔥

Flat water, gates, and proper slalom work tonight — building both fitness and technical skills where it matters.

6 paddlers on the water, with the coaches putting in just as much effort as the athletes 💪

Big shoutout to Evelyn on her first slalom session — brilliant start and great attitude 👏

And of course… couldn’t leave it there 👀
Finished off with a few sprints to keep things honest 😈

Introducing Your New Committee 🚣‍♂️

We’re pleased to introduce the new Kingston Kayak Club committee:

🔹 Claire Medina – Club Chair
🔹 Lee Draper – Vice Chair
🔹 Lesley Medina – Treasurer
🔹 Emily Wilkinson – Club Secretary

This team will be leading the club forward, building on everything that makes KKC such a great place to paddle, compete and belong.

👏 A huge thank you to Dave Rawding and Sue Burgess
After years of dedication, commitment and hard work, Dave and Sue are stepping down from their roles as Chair and Secretary. The club simply wouldn’t be where it is today without everything they’ve put in over the years — both on and off the water.

From competitions to coaching, behind-the-scenes organisation to supporting members at every level — their impact has been massive.

We’re incredibly grateful for everything they’ve done 💙

Here’s to the next chapter for the club — and we’re looking forward to seeing you all on the water soon!
