So early today someone decided to accused me of a hiding tax to HMRC when this organisation was open so I thought I'd clear things up.
From 2012 - 2025 I ran this organisation by myself as a disabled volunteer martial arts club and charity organisation offering low costs sessions to all.
The students who attended those classes did not have to pay for me teaching them as I took no wages at all I made it part of the charity constitution when I setup this charity but what they did pay for when they was able to do so was pay part of the hall rental costs and for gradings the money made from these gradings went into a club fund and also payed part of those hall costs, I received no funds at all but I will be honest and say that I did on occasion need a new club t shirt so that came from the funds aswell at a cost of roughly £5 each and I brought 3 for myself from 2012 to 2025 until the club closed.
The rst of the hall hire costs came from my savings from my money so students who did train with me practically did get training for free minus hall costs they was able to afford.
Now tell in the comments if you think I broke ang HMRC rules the club never made money as it was a place of learning and not for profit run organisation. Below is what I payed for myself.
Most of the Hall Hire Costs at several locations in scunthorpe and hull over 13 years payed by from personal savings.
Club Websites
Flyers
Club equipment
Club events
Advertising costs
All payed by me so if ANYONE feels I have defrauded HMRC please feel free to contact them I have no issues with them viewing my bank account history or checking with any of my students to verify these facts.
When the club was closed it was done to my own personal health and because unfortunately my savings can only pay for so much and I simply couldn't afford to be as charitable as I once was able to be, so I have nothing to hide except maybe the fact that I miss teaching and can't do it anymore so if that's a crime then yes I'm 100% guilty of it.
You see my parents taught me that charity starts at home i setup my club because sessions costs could be high especially for a big family so my aim was to lower those costs at that's why I stayed open for 13 years.
Unfortunately when I moved to Bransholme Hull the local community was not interested in learning from a person in a wheelchair so they did not take up the offer at the local community centre where I now live near so 6 months after I set it up in early 2025 I closed for good as my savings ran dry I still paid for the hall but no one chose to take my offered classes.
But if they had then this club would of still been open today so if it's wrong to spend your own money so others can learn martial arts then again I'm guilty.
These are the facts and the truth
I hope this puts the end to matters
Has always keep training whilst you can learn from your instructors and use the knowledge you do learn wisely in life
Also I did not know i was committing a act of fraud by paying the running the costs and offering low cost services to the community for everyone who wanted to use my services and I certainly dont think its a crime to be charitable as a person as I was always taught this by my parents and grandparents but if I'm wrong I'm wrong and if you believe I have then your definition of charity and mine is very different and I feel very sorry for you as in my opinion I've done nothing wrong.
