D-STAR, UFO and UFO+

Our obsession for pockets in dual texture macros continues.

We have reworked our old shapes and added some new ones. Now we are free from GRP and have our own VTF ABS we have split the textured core from the shiny outer ring.

We can now simply offer different inners and keep adding to the theme.

We are obsessed with our new UK production but we will eventually stop posting photos of everything we make.

OLYMPIC LEGACY

With two Olympic Games under our belt, we couldn’t leave our legacy macros behind. VTF ABS is the future, fibreglass is the past so we are busy updating these classic shapes with subtle improvements we couldn’t achieve with fibreglass.

We have rounded off the sharp corners, moved the texture back a touch and removed fixing screws from the reach of those searching for little cheats to break the beta.

Custom screw inserts, engineered lightweight and sustainable plastic components, all enabling a better macro that’s costs you and the planet less.

BASIC RAILS

A new day, a new World Cup season and another new set of Rockcity macros.

Once again delivered from our new UK factory in ABS VTF. Partially made from recycled material, releasing significantly less VOCs and carbon within the manufacturing process than fibreglass, this stuff is the future.

There are two Basic Rail profiles in three sizes and shaped by our friend Tsukuru Hori as an awesome new addition to the Basics family.

GEN-X

We are excited to finally be dropping a new set of macros. Our first new set from our own UK production, in fabulous VTF ABS.

For us, fibreglass is over, so here is the future. Vacuum Thermoformed ABS macros that are truly flangeless. Custom engineered inserts, high gloss scratch resistant coating and 3D structure to mimic all the good properties of a fibreglass macro, without the environmental impact of GRP.

Developed over 3 years and with Patent Pending on all the novel solutions to make it work.

GEN-X? Well, yes but also shaped by our friend Yann GENOUX, aka Gen - - X

D-STAR 800

Inspired by the Death Star, one of the best disks with a pocket ever designed. So, meet our D-Star 800, ABS VTF dual texture macro with interchangeable pockets.

No tools required, no complicated system, no elastic bands, use the same screws to rotate or swap the pocket as you use to route set with.

The future is here, fibreglass is a thing of the past, happy May the Fourth….

25 years ago, back in 2001, we hosted the S7 British Bouldering Championships. This was our first experience of a national climbing competition and it was a major outing for some OG’s of the international climbing competition scene that followed.

Event Organiser and Jury President for the BBC’s in 2001 was Graeme Alderson, who later became an IFSC stalwart. The competition was set by Ian Vickers and Chris Plant. Both set many national and later international competition for the UIAA World Cups, predating the creation of the IFSC. In fact, the BBC’s went from Hull to both NEC in Birmingham and to Earls Court in London. There was also a series of competitions, not just one.

The results also make for interesting reading, You will see many an IFSC and Olympic Jury President or Chief Route Setter amongst the ranks. It’s only with hindsight can we see what value the efforts people put in to grass roots, local and national events and the opportunities it creates in the years that follow.

Today, we still work with some of these legends and are as excited to join the CWIF team in a few weeks for another British landmark competition.

Big thanks to for giving us his 2001 competition vest.

GIANTS

We are really proud to have collaborated with such sporting giants, Adidas. From that first pair of Sambas to this.

A four piece volume set exclusively available for Adidas as they reinforce how popular climbing is worldwide. It was great fun to design and manufacture, right here in the UK.

A top boulder with giant of the Rockcity Climbing Team, Max Milne.

That was fun. The Hangar Games Grand Final is in the books.

Check out taking on the Adi Dazzler, at , set by Olympic setter .
