🚴‍♂️ Fred Whitton Challenge – Riding with Purpose 🚴‍♀️

This weekend, one of our club members, alongside fellow local cyclists, will be taking on the Fred Whitton Challenge — one of the UK’s toughest and most iconic sportives.

They’re not just riding for the challenge… they’re riding for something deeply personal. 💙

In memory and honour of a close school friend, they’re raising funds for The Brain Tumour Charity, helping to support vital research and families affected by this devastating illness.

This is more than just miles in the saddle — it’s about resilience, friendship, and making a difference.

If you’d like to show your support, whether that’s cheering them on, sharing this post, or making a donation, it would mean the world. Every bit helps move us closer to better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

🗻🗻GRAND OLD DUKES 🗻🗻

Yesterday 4 members of KLCC went up to Scotland to complete the gravel sportive - Grand Old Dukes - essentially the Fred on gravel 🫠🤯🫠🤯

An absolutely brutal and beautiful route around The Trossachs in Scotland

Chris (club chair and recently unemployed), Ant (social sec) and Glyn managed to finish the brutal event and (I think) thoroughly enjoyed it!! Aaron decided to have another lie on the floor and is currently writing a strongly written letter to SRAM…

🗻🗻THE COAL ROAD HILL CLIMB🗻🗻

Next Thursday 22nd May at 6.30pm is the Coal Road hill climb - it’s a case of just rocking up and seeing how fast you can ride/suffer up it!!

🖤💛❤️ FRED WHITTON 2025 ❤️💛🖤

Yesterday was this year’s Fred Whitton challenge which saw 9 club members take on the incredible route - 180km and 3200m of climbing!!

Well done to each and every one of you - a lot of club training rides have been completed the past 3 months which themselves were crazy hard in preparation for the big day!

💛💛YELLOW RIDE💛💛

Yesterday seen our first yellow ride of 2025 - 7 riders went for a lovely spin in the sunshine and obviously a coffee stop at Wray!

These rides are for anyone to join and is all about the social side of riding and we aim to do one a month!

💛💛KLCC YELLOW RIDE💛💛

This Sunday 9th April see’s our first yellow ride of 2025 leaving the Market Square in KL at 9am.

This is a perfect ride for anyone just wanting a nice social bit of cycling and anyone new to cycling that would like to ride with others 😁😁

If you’d like to join just turn up with a working bike and a helmet 🚴🚴 the route is below and will have a lovely coffee and cake stop at Wray around half way round

🩶🩶KLCC GREY RIDE🩶🩶

This morning saw 5 club members head out for another club grey ride 😁

We went for the glorious views above Windermere in Grizedale Forest but the weather did not play ball and at the highest point visibility was about 50 meters! 🌫️🌫️🌫️ although the weather didn’t get on board it didn’t stop 5 very happy smiley and dirty faces loving their time out enjoying some off road goodness 🌚🌚🌚
