Some nice news stories this week, I have now qualified as a Counsellor in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Yahoo! These achievements never happen as a solo effort, so thank you to David, my family, friends, course tutors and the class of '26 at the Glasgow Cognitive Therapy Centre for your support.
What does this mean? This means I can work with people from all walks of life who might be struggling with psychological health issues, general wellbeing or those who simply want to make things better and may not have a specific identifiable concern. I continue to specialise in working with people involved in sport and exercise and believe this qualification has given me the confidence to work with complex issues as well as helping you reach your performance goals.

Great News! Fit-Think my partnership with Dr Elanor Cormack of Cormack Psychology continues to be the official sport psychology partner for the Dragon's Back Race 2026. We are aware that the Northern Traverse event has passed, however we would very much encourage any competitors preparing for this year's Dragon's Back Race to get in touch. We are super happy that ULTRA X has agreed to continue to promote our services.

With Mental Health Awareness week in mind, please enjoy listening to my client Adam Waugh describing his solo, circumnavigation of the world race experience. It is an uplifting story, full of aspiration, hope and competitive spirit. You can watch us here, on my YouTube channel, or listen here via Buzzsprout. We worked together both before and during Adam's race. I never doubted him and can only marvel at his achievement, and that of his fellow competitors....

Adam has recently completed a solo, circumnavigation of the world as part of the Macintyre Mini Globe Race in his hand built sail boat Little Wren. His achievement, and that of the other sailors, is without question extraordinary. Adam and I discuss his incredible achievement from the perspective of working with me, a CBT Counsellor specialising in psychology of sport. You can hear about the Mini Globe Race, Adam's expectations, competitiveness, aspirations, highs, lows and ultimately his success.
I've been looking forward to posting this since we started working together. I never doubted Adam's ability to complete the race.
