What a game tonight for the Blacks at Springburn Park against Rossvale in their first taste of 9-a-side football.
Two teams going full tilt from start to finish, with some great tackles, quality goals and plenty of excitement throughout. The pitch was on the small side for 9s, making it difficult to find space, but the boys adapted well and worked incredibly hard.
After a strong first half, we lost our shape a little as the boys got used to new positions, but they showed great character to dig in and grab a brilliant late winner.
Man of the Match could have gone to any one of them tonight, but the boys voted Theo for his all-action performance.

Another good result and performance from the Reds this morning, especially considering the boys were celebrating at their end-of-season presentation awards last night.
The game was evenly contested for the opening 15 minutes, with both sides finding the net three times. However, the Reds gradually took control, applying sustained pressure that resulted in two more goals before the break to give us a lead at half-time.
We lost our shape slightly at the start of the second half, but Wasps never really caused us too many problems. The boys soon settled back into their rhythm and produced another solid team performance, moving the ball well and making good use of the full width of the pitch to create attacks from the wings.
One further goal in the second half put the game to bed and capped off a successful weekend of celebrations. One final 7’s game to go, let’s finish the season in style!

A winning end to the season for the Blacks at home to Dunblane, although it should have been far more comfortable than it turned out to be.
After a slow start, the boys found their rhythm and played some really good football to build a strong lead. As the game went on, everyone chased goals and the shape disappeared a little, leaving us exposed at the back and making for a nervy finish.
Credit to Innes, who made a couple of fantastic saves at key moments, and to all the boys for getting over the line.
A great way to round off our final game of 7-a-side football. Now it’s time to look forward to the challenge of 9-a-side next season.

A pulsating game for the Blacks against East End tonight in searing heat — one I’m sure everyone watching enjoyed.
After a fairly even first half, the boys went in behind against a very quick side. The response after the break was excellent though, coming flying out the traps and turning the game around through a brilliant hat-trick from Max.
A superb long range strike from the hosts brought things level again and despite pushing hard for a late winner, it just wouldn’t come.
Fantastic effort from every one of the boys tonight in really tough conditions.

Tough night for the Blacks at High Park against Campsie.
The boys took a while to get going and found it difficult to deal with the opposition’s direct style of play. It was a scrappy game overall and we never really showed our usual composure on the ball.
Despite that, there were still plenty chances created which is encouraging moving forward.
