ORKNEY GOLF CLUB
Ladies Section
Twenty-six ladies came down from Shetland for the annual Inter County competition on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th. The weather on Saturday was dry and a bit breezy and with the Shetland ladies playing the better golf the day ended with a score of 8 to Shetland and 5 to Orkney. With the heavy rain on Sunday morning and the course waterlogged Sunday’s play had to be cancelled and the ladies enjoyed a social afternoon in the clubhouse instead. Many thanks to all the ladies making the journey down and hopefully the weather will be better next time.
A Two Club and Putter fun competition was held on Tuesday 1st September and the weather in the morning took the fun part out of it with the players absolutely soaked although Linda Bonner had a very good score of 76[18]. The later players did have better weather and the winner with a wonderful score of 73[43] was Linda Milne who obviously chose the best two clubs. In second place was Lorna Wilson one shot further back on 74[35] and third was Sandra Shearer 76[29] who had a better back nine than Linda Bonner.
An SGL and Ticketyboo September medal was played on Thursday 3rd and having dried out from Tuesday Michelle played her usual steady golf and was the winner on 73[11]. Linda Milne again played well with all her club this time and was in second place on 76[39] and Linda Bonner was third with a score of 78[16].

Hi folks,
Unfortunately the course will remain closed today (5/9) due to flooding, we will review tomorrow morning at 7am
Cheers
Chris
That's Masterscoreboard back up and running again. The Glass Shop seniors medal tomorrow is open for booking again. Booking slots are only starting from 0850hrs to let the course try and shed some water after today's weather. Fingers crossed it dries up through the night.

If members have not noticed yet. Masterscoreboard has crashed.
They have been notified but so far we have not received any notification of when it will be back up and running.
With the Glass Shop Senior gents medal due to be played tomorrow this is not ideal.
It will likley revert to an old school turn up at certain times and card draw.
This will be confirmed later today.
Apologies for any inconvenience.
Club fundraising opportunity.
Due to a cancellation at the blue door we have been offered the slot.
The club are in on Tuesay 15th, Wednesday 16th, Friday 17th and Saturday 19th of September.
If you have any unwanted stuff or are having a general clean out then pop it past the blue door on the days detailed above.
It would also be great if any members who like baking fire up the oven and rattle oot a few fancies for sale too.
I'm also looking for some raffle prizes.
It would also be great to get some volunteers to work in the shop on the days we are in.
One in the morning from 0930-1300; and one in the afternoon 1300hrs to 1600hrs on all 4days.
Anyone interested please drop me a text or message.
Many thanks
Derek
