Lancaster City FC Military Veterans would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Zori and Caitlin from The Midland in Morecambe for kindly sponsoring our awards evening at the end of our 2nd season by offering free use of their function room 🫡🏆

It has been a phenomenal, yet more challenging 2nd season for us, this time finishing 2nd & 3rd in the Northwest Military Veterans League, and finishing 1st in our first ever 11-a-side tournament in the Social Inclusion League 🥇

We have over 20 awards to give out this time, and we sincerely appreciate the ongoing support from the community. We're looking forward to coming back stronger again in our 3rd season!

Team Whites officially end our 2nd season with a tough game against Chorley today ⚽️🫡

Team White unfortunately took their first loss of the season against Chorley, who also gained their first two wins of the season!

Chorley played back to back games today, and won both, congratulations to the players who dug-in for both fixtures 🙌

As our 2nd season ends, we finish in 2nd & 3rd positions this year, with Accrington taking the trophy as league winners.

We did take the trophy home from our first 11-a-side league though, which definitely softens the blow 🏆

We will be back next season to try and reclaim our title ⚽️💙

On a positive note: we have attached a picture of how we take care of our players who have been dedicated to the team. For the players who have been with us from the start, they will have gained all of our branded kit and merchandise free of charge! Our players have never had to pay for anything to take part in our games and training sessions, and this is something we are hugely proud of 🙌

With thanks to our sponsors, funding grants, and charitable work from team manager, Shawn, we have been able to ensure all our players can attend fixtures and training without spending a single penny, so if you’re a military veteran of North Lancashire, and would like to get fit and active alongside the most successful military veterans team in the Northwest, then please contact us today! Our final fixture of our 2nd season!

Team whites take on Chorley FC Military Veterans in what will be our final fixture of the 2nd season ⚽️🫡

The league has been very different this year, with new challenges from additional teams. However, both our teams finish 2nd & 3rd in the league, and are still to take a loss in this league.

The champions this year will be another undefeated team, Accrington FC Military veterans - Congratulations to those!

We would like to thank all our sponsors and supporters throughout this year, and we look forward to our 2nd awards evening being hosted at The Midland Hotel in Morecambe in August!

Big win for Team Blue today 🏆

The team that were undefeated last season won their first local derby today against Morecambe FC Military Veterans, with a 6-3 scoreline that puts them in 2nd place ⚽️🫡

The first half was very close, finishing 2-2 as we headed into half-time. But they came out fighting in the second and bagged another 4 goals!

We also have team captain, Adam Mulgrew, wearing our new personalised armbands.

Both teams only have one game left this season and will likely be finishing 2nd & 3rd in the league table. Hard work paying off in our 2nd appearance in the Northwest Military Veterans League. Both teams technically still undefeated, the only team to have beaten one of our teams is our other team!

Congratulations to Accrington for winning this season on their first appearance, and we will be looking to reclaim the title next season…

Our 2nd fixture against Morecambe FC Military Veterans ⚽️🫡

Last month, a bolstered-up Morecambe military veterans team took on our currently undefeated Team Blue, and with a few key players missing we battled to a 3-3 draw!

This weekend, our undefeated champions from last season look forward to the challenge of their first local derby against Morecambe!

This is our penultimate fixture in the Northwest Military Veterans League. It has been another thoroughly enjoyable season with lots of new challenges from the teams that have joined this season 🏆

A few words from the team manager for today’s fixture, Kane Pennington “The attitude from start to finish showed exactly what this group is about. The commitment and dedication across the whole team was outstanding. From the starting XI handling constant adaptations throughout the game, to every substitute being ready, hungry and prepared to make an impact.

Choosing a Man of the Match was probably the toughest decision of the day, which says a lot about the performance levels across the squad. But goals and assists are impossible to ignore and after contributing 2 goals and 2 assists, the MOTM has to go to Ste Gardner - fully deserved. 💙 ⚽️ 🦁”

Team Blue took a 6-5 win against Rochdale MV, while team White drew 3-3 against a vastly improved Morecambe MV. Both teams also played with no subs today - hats off to the players digging in for the full fixture in the heat 🫡
