The club is a member of the Palace Shield Competition and the Westmorland Cricket League. There are six junior sides across varying ages

The 1st XI play in the Palace Shield Competition while the 2nd XI and 3rd XI play in the Westmorland Cricket League.

After a hard-fought campaign, Craig Buchanan's side will be looking to finish the season strongly in front of the home support knowing a win will guarentee safety in the Palace Shield Championship. A huge game ahead

John Lynch's men travel to Bare in superb form, chasing a fifth consecutive victory to round off an excellent finish to the season and similar to the 1sts, a win will secure their spot in the 2nd division next season.

Huge congratulations to Jospeh Conroy who scored his maiden senior cricket century with a superb 107 n.o in the 3rd XI fixture vs Netherfield on Sunday.

Westgate come into the game looking to bounce back after two tough results, while Lancaster arrive in strong form.

It's a big Saturday of cricket for Westgate CC 2 sides are back in league action this afternoon! Dont forget, today is also our annual sponsor day where we give thanks to all sponsors that have generously supported the club over the season - 2 free drinks per sponosor.

After the conclusion of the games, there will also be our annual BBQ night so wer set for a great day down at Cross Hill Park!

WESTGATE CC WEEKEND ROUND-UP 💚💛🏏

A rare perfect weekend for the club, with all three senior sides recording victories and collecting 34 league points. 💪🏏

1st XI won by 6 wickets at Fylde CC

After electing to field, Westgate's bowlers laid the foundations for victory with Sam Conroy (3-44) and Jacob Vaughan (2 wickets) striking at key moments, while Rangika Pinnala Don delivered an economical spell.

In reply, Westgate chased 191 in style. Lewin Maladay produced a stunning unbeaten 107 from just 84 balls, smashing 14 fours and 5 sixes in a match-winning knock. Supported by Craig Buchanan (39) and Andrew Powers (11*), Westgate reached 194-4 with more than five overs to spare.

2nd XI won by 5 runs against Heysham

Westgate posted 187-6 thanks largely to an outstanding 75 from Chris Carter, who anchored the innings superbly. Useful contributions from Sunil Naikwadi (21), Matthew Bradshaw (21) and an important late partnership between Marcus Palamountain (17)* and Joseph Conroy (12)* ensured a competitive total.

The defence required a real team effort and the bowlers delivered. Chris Beales (3-51) led the attack, while Joseph Conroy's excellent 2-9 helped swing the game Westgate's way - but only just in a nail biting finish. Strong fielding and composure under pressure secured a hard-fought victory.

3rd XI won by 233 runs against Warton

The 3rds produced a dominant all-round display. Batting first, Westgate racked up 311-5, built around a magnificent unbeaten maiden 100 from Jack Edwards. He was well supported by *Oliver Tinwell (46)**, Jake Lightfoot (39) and Dave Edwards (37).

With a huge total on the board, Westgate never looked back. Thareen Karunayathne starred with 4-12, while Ted Stoney (2-25) and Jake Huddleston (2-22) backed him up superbly. Sharp fielding, including two run outs and two stumpings, completed a comprehensive win.

🏏 Saturday Round-Up: 1s Victorious, Tough Day for the 2s in Heysham Double Header

A mixed weekend for Westgate CC, with the 1st XI securing an impressive 66-run win at Heysham, while the 2nd XI fell short against Heysham's 2nd XI.

🟢 1st XI vs Heysham 1st XI

Westgate 185-7 (45 overs)
Heysham 119 all out (37.2 overs)
Westgate won by 66 runs

After electing to bat, Westgate posted a competitive 185-7. Sam Frith top-scored with 39, Lewin Maladay added a fluent 31, and Andrew Powers' unbeaten 33 provided a vital finish to the innings.

The bowlers then took control. Heysham were reduced to 5-2 early on before Josh Dixon's 55 offered resistance. Lee Illingworth produced the standout spell, claiming 3-20, while Zak Buchanan matched him with 3 wickets of his own. Sam Conroy and Rangika Pinnala Don chipped in with a wicket each, and sharp fielding delivered two run outs as Heysham were dismissed for 119.

A strong all-round performance earned the 1st XI a valuable 12 points.

2nd XI vs Heysham 2nd XI

Heysham 221 all out (45 overs)
Westgate 98 all out (33.2 overs)
Heysham won by 123 runs

The 2nd XI faced a tough challenge after Heysham posted 221, with Jamie Antcliffe leading the scoring with 92.

Westgate battled hard with the ball, led by John Lynch's three wickets, while Joseph Conroy and Marcus Palamountain claimed two apiece. Oliver Tinwell and Sunil Naikwadi also got among the wickets to ensure Heysham were bowled out.

Chasing 222, Westgate were unable to build the partnerships needed and were eventually dismissed for 98 despite a fluent 51 from skipper John Lynch.
