Wet sand and two stage polish to restore the effects of 20 plus years of storage on the Vi - well worth the effort!
Time to clean up and get some wax on now.

A set of brand new - old stock wheels and unused, original fitment Dunlop SP Sport 200 tyres for the 13,000 mile 200 Vi.

Car runs and drives perfectly without any issues. Timing belt replaced at 81,500 miles. Pektron BCU relays just replaced, so all electrics are working fine.
Has rust on wings and rear arches and a sagging headliner, but is in farly good condition otherwise.
Has the makings of a nice car, ideal diesel workhorse for winter with long MOT.

Why is it those Unicorn "barn find" cars are never on your doorstep?

Eleven hours of driving, three hours or freeing brakes and inflating tyres and over 600 miles later this ultra rare, 13,000 mile 200 Vi is back at THS HQ after over twenty years in hibernation.

Now to get on with the recommissioning...
