How much does it cost to start tutoring?
Generally speaking the costs are low and can be spread over time. You will probably spend the most on books, materials and some website subscriptions. You will need a laptop and you may want to spend a small amount on advertising to begin with. You may also want to invest in insurance and membership of an appropriate professional body.

Although lots of people begin tutoring as a 'side hustle', for many, they enjoy it so much, it becomes their mainstay. It has lots of advantages...

Should you offer online tuition? This is always a good idea, although it's not right for every student and some subjects are a lot easier to tutor online than others. However, it has lots of advantages both for the tutor and the student. It gives you a far greater range of students and it is often more convenient for both you and the student. There are plenty of games and tools online and a choice of online platforms to use. We have all had plenty of practice in doing things online recently!
