As our season comes to a close, we say goodbye to our overseas amateur Riley Bettington.
After arriving from Taranaki, New Zealand, Riley joined us in April after impressive seasons at Stratford CC back home.
During his time at Stenhousemuir, Riley racked up 560 runs in all competitions across 27 innings (2 not outs). His top score came against Dunfermline & Carnegie in the Forth Valley Cup, 96 runs (45 balls). He also took 21 wickets across the season.
We also got to welcome Rileyβs family to in June. A big thank you to them for all the support they have given us this summer.
Thanks for everything you have given to our club Riley, both on and off the field. Safe travels back to New Zealand and all the best with your season back home.

THE MURRAY PEDEN TROPHY RETURNS π
This Saturday, we face Dunfermline & Carnegie CC in the return of the Murray Peden Trophy - a special fixture with deep roots in our club's history.
Taking place at The Tryst on Saturday 5th September, the match honours Murray Peden, a Scottish international cricketer who represented both Stenhousemuir CC and Dunfermline CC. Murray sadly passed away in 1978 during his prime playing years, and the the Trophy was created in his memory.
The clubs annually played for the trophy from 1978 with Dunfermline winning the inaugural match. Over the years, Stenhousemuir won 9 matches, Dunfermline won 5 and 5 abandoned due to rain.
The fixture came to an end in 1196 when both clubs played in the Scottish National cricket League (SNCL), but as part of our 150th Anniversary season, we're proud to bring the fixture back.
