Largs Halkshill Bowling Club formed 1888 Halkshill Bowling Club, as it was called then, was inaugurated on 12 May 1888. Barbour. The first President, a Mr. A.
It was laid with turf supplied by the Scott family from Halkshill Estate, hence the original name of the Club. The Club was opened as a private Club by former members of Allanpark Bowing Green, where the Largs Library now sits. First league game tonight against our very good friends from Kilwinning resulting in a successful result 4 0 for Halkshill
President Iain Tait thanked Kilwinning for a very competitive game, and Kilwinning Secretary Billy Malcomson replying for the visitors, congratulated Halkshill on their victory and wished the Halkshill Ayrshire and Scottish representatives every success in their respective ties .
Would all the Members playing against Kilwinning tonight be at Halkshill for 6.30

The John McDonald Scottish Cup Final bus will leave Halkshill on Sunday at 2pm.

Michael McGowan will be running another coaching session tonight at 18.30, this is open to all members, he will be working on consistent set up and delivery, weight control and hitting your line consistently.

President Iain Tait welcomed Dreghorn Bowling Club President John Goldie and his troops to Halkshill yesterday for our annual friendly.
The weather was not too bad and after the last bowl was played in a very sociable and competitive game, Halkshill triumphed by several shots!!!!
A great day was had by all, and the Dreghorn players left vowing vengeance next year.
Good start to the 2026 ABA competitions, singles and pairs got walkovers in their respective ties., Taity, Derek and Scott progress to next week.
