What a player ⚡️

Dylan Sloan looks to have come on leaps and bounds from last season. He has an animalistic presence in midfield, constantly hunting the ball out of possession and glides across the pitch with it 🔥🗡️

Does he make your starting XI versus Crusaders in the Charity Shield? 🤔

Ali Omar is set to sign for Larne this week after his contract with Torquay expires ✍️

Ali is a left footed centre half with 26 appearances in the National League 22/23 💪

I’m also expecting more transfer news to come out of the club today 👀

With the transfer window opening this Wednesday, how would your shopping list look? 🤔

In an ideal world this is mine, with a few possible tweaks depending on departures 🛍️

What do you think, Reds?

This is how our regionalised pot is looking according to on Twitter 🌍

Note, this is not final and is subject to change. UEFA tend to mix these groups up according to geography and ranking.

Who do you fancy out of these, reds? 🤔

Good news coming out of the club recently regarding Mark Randall who will become part of the U15 Pro Development coaching staff 👏

My understanding is that this is a voluntary role, Mark will still feature as a first team player while gaining this valuable experience ⚽️

This differs from Albert Watson and Andy Mitchell’s roles which are full time at crucial age groups. Albert and Andy may play at another club part-time but will not feature for Larne.

Lee Bonis has been invited to a closed training camp with the senior Northern Ireland squad 🟢⚪️

Michael O’Neill has organised two training camps for the senior men’s international squad in England as part of preparations for the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers against Denmark and Kazakhstan next month 🇰🇿

Lee is set to attend camp 1, from 29th May for 4 days 💪

Thoroughly deserved, congratulations Lee! 👏🐐

Some early transfer news in the papers this morning….

The BelTel wrote: “Larne are expected to tie up a deal for Glentoran striker Jay Donnelly if Lee Bonis seals a cross-channel move this summer.”

My understanding is that Jay Donnelly IS NOT a target for Larne at this time ❌

Lee remains a Larne player and any paper talk on his future remains speculation at the moment.

Just posted by Fudzer onto his Instagram, thank you Fuad and wishing you every success in the future ❤️

Big news coming out of the club this evening - Graham Kelly and Fuad Sule both depart the club for free on the expiration of their contracts this summer 💔

Huge blow to the squad with these two being amongst our longest serving players.

Graham joined the club in August 2018 and leaves us in search for regular football. I’m lead to believe he will remain in the NIFL Premiership and has recently graduated as an accountant - making part-time football an option.

Fudzer similarly joined the club on loan during the summer of 2018 before making his move permanent in January 2019. He has been a mainstay in the first team through his time at the club and leaves in search of a move across the water. St. Mirren is looking like Sule’s preferred move, with Forest Green also an option.

Wishing the players the greatest amount of success in their future endeavours. Both Graham and Fuad have been great servants to Larne 🫡🔴⚪️

With there being a lot of speculation around yesterday’s announcement I have some information which may be useful in steadying some nerves.

In case you missed the announcement, we are no longer hosting our European games at Inver. The artificial surface failed a test where ball speed is measured. You can read more on the club website.

The automatic assumption for most is that we will now play our games at Seaview to try and keep us on a surface we’re comfortable and familiar with. This will definitely not be the case as they’ve stated their venue is unavailable. ❌

The alternative preferences now are either Solitude or the Ballymena Showgrounds. Ballymena being an obvious contender due to a short travel time and capacity capabilities. Solitude however, may suit our style of play better with it being a 4G pitch. 🏟️

With both Cliftonville and Ballymena Utd not qualifying for Europe, they’ll need the cash that we can bring with these fixtures and ultimately can’t afford to turn us away. 💰

There have been some rumours about our disqualification from the competition for not naming a second ground when applying for our license. This is speculation again. Inver Park is a category 2 stadium, meaning that we do not need to name another ground in our application.

To answer another query, the club did look into replacing the surface at Inver Park before our next pitch assessment. Although we could complete the job in time, there were too many risks associated with this option and it was discarded.

There is a wider issue here with the club catering for such a large section of the community on the pitch. A lack of funding into football and sport in the town has left us in the situation we’re in today. Inver Park is always in use and we’ve suffered the consequences of being the hub to our community. Hoping the local council get to work after seeing this announcement.

I expect this issue to be resolved in the next week. That’s your lot for now Reds 🔴⚪️
