YOUTH Training is cancelled this week (Thu 28th May), we’ll be back on next week (Thu 4th June)! Enjoy your half term holidays!

Sunday saw a hard fought battle against Bootle. To be accurate to history the scousers snuck into Wharfemeadows in a big horse-shaped van, and grabbed a couple of extra runs while our battery wasn’t looking.

(If you don’t know your Greek mythology, look up ‘Trojan Horse’; they didn’t actually steal anything from the Locos, although we didn’t have any metal detectors so maybe they wielded swords without us knowing…)

The Locos got ahead in game 1, but were unable to capitalise through the middle innings.
Our MVP goes to Justin for a competitive 6 innings.

Game 2 played out in reverse, with the Trojans getting ahead before Leeds started a comeback. Unfortunately it ended up being too little too late.
Gary Cooper was our standout performer with a 3 for 3 game and a walk!
Plus a big shoutout for Peter Wing for making a miraculous over-the-shoulder barehanded catch on his first weekend in Division 3.

And the Locos 2 travelled to Manchester to take on the Cavaliers, with both teams putting up strong performances in their respective wins.

Game 1 was controlled by the Locos battery, Justin and Anton, with Justin also tacking on a homer for his troubles. Leeds were competitive in all their at bats, with everyone chipping in to a dominant victory.
Milad went 2 for 2 with a walk and solid fielding at shortstop, making him a worthy MVP.

In game 2 the Locos’ bats went cold in the 3rd inning and remained that way until the end.
Our MVP goes to Logan, who whacked the ball real hard, all the way over the fence! Congrats on your first home run Logan!!

Our home game this week gave us a pair of warriors in heated battle, as the Sheffield Bladerunners 1 brought their best to Wharfemeadows.

Game 1 was a tight pitchers duel between Anthony Munoz and Thomas Spradling, with the latter conceding a run in the third and sixth. With only 5 hits a piece, it was all about taking your opportunities.
Anthony is our MPV for that shutout performance, a dominant win in his first start of the season.

In game 2, Sheffield slashed ahead to an 8 run lead by the end of the 3rd inning, and held tight to keep us from gaining too much in the latter innings.
Our MVP is Andy Dean, who got a 3 hit, 3 RBI game under his belt.
Honourable mention to Dário who managed a rare trip trip triple too!

The Leeds Locos Youth Training is officially official!!

We’ll be starting up on the 21st of May, and running for 10 weeks until the 23rd of July.
