First game of the season sees us host new side Neville Hill FC so we wasn’t sure what to expect, alot of change this year at Fryston, alot of new players including two 17 year olds in the squad.

Fry struggled to get in to the game in the opening period, with the dryness of the pitch making it hard to play football on. First 20 mins seeing neither team threaten the goal, with the first big moment of the match coming from Neville Hill’s winger who got himself sent off after kicking out which sparked a coming together.

Play continues and it was Neville Hill who responded the better, it almost felt as the red card was the worst thing that could of happened to us, Neville hill get infront after an effort from outside the box which sees them lead at half time.

First half was a write off, we couldnt be any worse going in to second half, but second half resumes and with a man less Neville Hill sat in and cleared everything that came there way, Fry put the pressure on but just couldnt find the breakthrough. That is untill with 5 mins to go, some good play from debutant youngster James Amery plays a swift 1-2 with Mitch Mchugh, who finds himself at an almost impossible angle to shoot, imagine Maicon 2010 world cup, catches the ball clean and the power is too much for the keeper to react. Last 5 mins see Fry pile the pressure on but it wasnt meant to be, we settle for a point.

Refs MOTM going to winger Jared Hancock, he gave the full back all kind of nightmares as he always does.

Big thanks to Neville Hill for NOT coming back into the clubhouse after for a pint and some food!

Away day against step 7 outfit against bridlington ‘seconds’ resulted in a 3-1 loss

Lads were in it all game until a screamer from 40 yard changed the flow of the game.

In fairness to brid they were fitter than us faster than us and the level showed but nothing we haven’t seen before, better team took it on the day

Motm drakey, showed composure on the ball m some hold ip play with shades of a 2007 drogba!

Win or lose…you know the rest!

Round Bridlington for the lads tonight and then the bus trip home inbound!
