Fry complete the comeback!
Saturday saw us back on home turf facing Oulton, the only team to beat us this season, since then weve won four on bounce hoping to make it five. Another strong squad available with Jake Hogg making his debut.
Fryston come out of the blocks the quickest with Sam Fry clinically getting his first goal of the season after only a couple minutes on the clock. But it was Oulton that responded best, Fryston take there foot off the gas and get punished with two sloppy goals involving one of there lads running length of the pitch with the ball. Think its exactly what we needed to kick us back in to gear as Fry finish the half stronger and manage to nick a goal before half time, with a Beckham-esque delivery from the inform Olly Ames to find Jack O’reilly at the back post who slots it home to make it 2-2.
Scrappy first half and the lads knew they had another level to go, Fry started to control the game, creating more chances, winning there tackles and it only looked a matter of time before we took the lead. Up steps Captain Brad Olbison who rises highest from the corner to put Fryston infront. The boys werent content with a one goal lead, as two minutes later Fry get there fourth after Sam Fry is taken down in the box which sees winger Jared Hancock step up and convert the penalty. It looked sure to be five with both the young Amerys combining, James getting to the byline and putting it on a plate for Charlie to head home or so we thought….. Fryston control the second half and put the game to bed with five mins to go, with Jared Hancock getting his second of the game after a dubious “assist” from Josh Johnson.
Took us a while to get going but we got the job done. 3 points and back to the top of the table.
Think the players and everyone watching the game knew who the man of the match was and the ref confirmed it. He was everywhere today, what a performance. SAM FRY
