🏏What a Saturday we had last week! 🏏

🔥 For the first time in the Club’s history, we had 3 centurions in one day! 💯💯💯

🌟 Firstly, our overseas superstar Saurav scored his 2nd big ton of the season away at Follifoot. 💥

👏 He was joined in the same game by one of our first crop of juniors Dan T, who scored 111 from only 83 balls! 🚀💯

⭐ And another of our juniors, 14-year-old Henry S, scored his 4th hundred of the season in a thrilling run chase against Old Monk Mavericks. 💪🔥💯

I’ve been ignoring junior cricket in all my previous posts but I couldn’t ignore this. After Henry’s fantastic ton on Saturday for the Dales B team. Henry Sewards has scored over 1,000 runs for Rodley this year.

It isn’t even July yet.

No one since records began has scored over 1,000 runs in a season for Rodley. This is a first. The second best season total is Henry’s season last year where he got 909 and then the third best is when Gary Sagar got 863 in 2021.

This season already Henry has scored, 1,044 runs for Rodley at an average of 61, with 2 100’s and 8 50’s at a strike rate of 124. He has scored these runs in 33 games and 29 innings, finishing not out (mostly retired not out, 12 times!). He has scored more than 400 runs more than the next nearest batsman (Dan Turbitt also with 2 tons!)

In addition looking at total junior runs scored, Henry who has 3 an a half more years to play junior cricket has scored almost twice the runs of any other batsman. He has scored more than 4 of the other contenders in this season alone.

Henry has scored in total 1,955 runs in junior cricket, across 108 games and 97 innings, he has played more junior cricket than any other Rodley player (second most is Charlie Richardson with 89 games and then Leo Dawson with 87 games).
The second highest runs in junior cricket is held by Zac Abbas with 1,050 runs.

He averages 34 in junior cricket (second best average with top being Hashim Hussain, who averages 37!) and scores at a strike rate of 108.85 (Second best strike rate with top being Daniel Popplewell, just pipping him with 109!).

He has got 10 50’s and 40 not outs, which again are mostly retried not out.

Ridiculous.
