The wait is over! The Yorkshire Ammers YAL Championship squad begin their season tomorrow as they welcome Fairbank United in their opening fixture.

The lads will be looking to start the campaign with a strong performance, and we want your support from the sidelines!

Our 8th & Final Pre-season match. Another squad of 19 which included 1 Debut.

First half - We started quickly & took the lead through Omar with a composed finish after some good work from Reece.
Omar is on a nice little run of goals & assists 🫡

We could have extended the lead through Omar, Theo & Josh A as we created some good opportunities but unfortunately we didn’t convert.

Rothwell had a spell in the first half & played some good football but we managed to deal with the attacks until we gifted them with an opportunity that grasped with both hands to make it 1-1.
A well taken goal to equalise.

HT - 1-1

Plenty of positives at HT as it was a good first half. A little review of a gift we gave Rothwell.
Again Plenty of personnel changes with a squad of 19.

Second Half

We took the lead after great work from Lamek he played a defensive splitting pass which found Jason who found the back of the net with smart finish.

Lamek again instrumental in our third goal of the game. He found debutant Nathan on the edge of the area. Nathan shot and the keeper couldn’t hold onto the shot.

James who came on during the second half & went in goal manage to assist Debutant Nathan - A kick out of James’s hands to Nathan. Nathan brought the ball down produced an impressive dribble & shot match!

Jason was impressive during the second half went on a dribble & picked out Josh A
who whipped it into the net!

Finally Josh A intercepted a pass as Rothwell tried to play out from the back & made no mistake with the finish!

Loads of positives from our pre-season game & things to learn from too!

The YAL Championship Squad are back in action tomorrow as they head away to face Rothwell Juniors in their final pre-season friendly.

The lads will be looking to finish pre-season on a high before the Championship campaign gets underway this Saturday.
