Premiership 2 League Cup Semi Final

Wakefield Athletic 1 Carlton Sundays 3

The chance to reach a final, and after being knocked out of another cup by Wakefield a couple of weeks ago we seeked revenge.

We started off quick, pressing from the front and being solid at the back, and after Jamie was slipped through 1 on 1 he made no mistake and made it 1-0. After some more good work in midfield from Spratty and Killa, the ball fell to Morgan who slipped Jamie through again to make it 2-0.

After that we seemed to drop off and let Wakefield come onto us, some good defending and Some good saves from Swifty kept them out to go in 2-0 up at half time.

We came out slow again in the second half and when Wakefield broke the ball was pulled across the box and tapped home to make it 2-1 and game on.

Wakefield seemed to tire and we started to get a lot more of the ball, the ball fell to Silvers who slipped Spratty through to make it 3-1 and a long way back for Wakefield.

Credit to Wakefield they threw a lot at it but they didn’t have enough in the end and the boys held on to make the final!

Final is next week ( Sunday 6th of April ) and we want to see everyone there! 10:30am Kick off all details will be out mid week.

Carlton Sundays 7 Graziers 3

One thing to say today, if we had everyone available that we did today every week we would struggle to get beat😂

We started off brightly, some great football from back to front. Few chances for Luke, Silvers and Brooky but just couldn’t make the Breakthrough.

We kept probing and after some 1 touch football, Brooky pulled the ball back to Silvers who finished into the bottom corner to make it 1-0. Shortly after Charlie slipped Luke Owen through who dummied it and let it run to Silvers who dinked the keeper to make it 2-0.

Closing in on half time and after some great pressing from Brandan, he won the ball back and slipped Brooky through who fired home to make it 3-0. However after not putting a foot wrong all half with some great saves and distribution, Mason dropped a free kick and their striker tapped home to make it 3-1 and HT.

Second half we started slow and after the ball fell to a graziers attacker and he smashed an unstoppable shot until to the far top corner to make it 3-2. But we carried on pressing and when Silvers was slipped through he finished to make it 4-2.

We dropped off again and allowed Graziers back into it and their striker beat the offside line and made it 4-3.

20 minutes left to see out, Tobi came on and was nuisance, and got his rewards and he finished into the bottom corner to make it 5-3. Shortly after Luke Owen broke away and lobbed the keeper with an unbelievable finish to make it 6-3 and Lucas Khan finished off a top display finishing into the bottom corner to make it 7-3.

That win puts us 3 points away from top, 4 games to go in the league.

Shoutout to Josh Lunn too today, made his debut. Solid as rock and didn’t put a foot wrong.

This could have gone to everyone today, Brooky with a goal and 3 assists, Luke Owen was all over.

Graziers 2 Carlton Sundays 4

A tough test for the lads today, short of players, a lot out of position but we worked hard and ground out the win.

Back to front everyone put a shift in. Jake playing in goal, Morgan at right back Lewis at left back, Silvers and Charlie both playing central midfield, all playing out of position. Nobody moaned and we just got on with it.

10 minutes in, after some good work from Joe down the left, the ball fell to Ibi who smashed into the top corner to make it 1-0. Shortly after Labi used his strength and flicked a long ball on to Charlie T who calmly finished to make it 2-0.

Graziers kept pushing but the back four were class, Elliot and Ceej both solid as rocks and Jake pulled off some great saves.

We kept attacking and after some great feet from Lucas, he curled one into the top corner, honestly don’t think it could have been anymore in the top corner. Absolute worldie.

We went in at half time 3-0 up, we knew we just had to do the same again.

Out the blocks quick again and the ball fell to Labi who dinked the keeper to make it 4-0.

After that it was a hard fought battle, nothing pretty but we did what we needed to. Two sloppy goals conceded, but we will put that down to tired legs.

Couldn’t have asked for anything more today, a great win and another 3 points to take us up to 3rd.

Labi X 1
