✨Ok so this one may not be directly about Pilates but if you are a woman in her 30's to 50's perimenopause can happen anytime during that window, and you are going to need to consider how you exercise and how your body is changing.Remember as a woman you CANNOT opt out of this process!
✨ I am 46 and firmly in perimenopause I train Pilates and I lift weights. Why?
✨ Because my Body needs it, my HORMONES ARE BEHAVING LIKE ITS THE WILD WEST and need regulating and my periods are giving ALL the irregular vibes!
✨ Now I could sit here uneducated and let perimenopause take over my life, but instead I'm choosing to read, get educated and take control.
✨What will you choose? Will you choose to grab this book, read and make the changes to support your body. Or sit in a place of uncertainty as to what the hell is happening to you?
✨To the men... if you have a woman in your life, you too should grab this book and start reading. She will love you for learning about her body and you can support this beast of a change that is coming her way!

Keeping it healthy over Xmas 🎄
RECIPE: (it’s not an exact science)
💫 2 scoops of your fave protein
💫 Dark chocolate
💫 150-200ml of milk
💫 100g malted milk (or however much needed until you get a dough you are happy with
💫Throw everything (apart from the chocolate) in a bowl and mix
💫 take small bits of dough and roll into balls
💫place on baking tray in fridge to cool for 30 mins
💫melt the chocolate
💫Take out balls and dip in the chocolate, then place back in the fridge to cool until you’re ready to munch them 😁😋

I wanted to share this post to highlight how important it is to have perspective and realistic goals when it comes to training Pilates.
First it’s really important to say that PILATES BY ITSELF will NOT give you a 6 pack!
What it WILL give you is a strong core, flexibility and some great mobility plus mindfulness, which will help to support other exercise modalities like weightlifting.
I have always trained Pilates, however it has never given me a VISIBLE 6 pack.
This picture is of me 2019/20 and as you can see my abdominals are just starting to be visible.
At this time I was watching MY DIET like a hawk which is the key to changing body composition and I was lifting weights in the gym 4 times per week. This is 12 weeks in and my body fat is reduced by 5%.
Pilates alone would not have done this, but it helped my weight training because I gained more mobility so I could get more range of motion and also my core strength so I could lift with more control and muscle activation, plus my mindfulness which helped with focus on the DIET which for me was the hardest part.
My point is that it’s important to get clear on your goals.
If you want a body transformation then Pilates is not all that you have to do, diet weights and a really well structured programme that you can be consistent with is what you have to do.
Pilates will however help to support that journey! 😊
