🏏 Hall of Fame Inductee – Paul Dews 🏏

We’re delighted to announce that Paul Dews has become the latest recipient of the Meanwood Cricket Club Hall of Fame award 👏

Paul joins his father Mick and mother Pauline as the third member of the Dews family to be honoured – a truly remarkable achievement in the club’s history.

Paul’s journey began with the junior sides in the 1980s and early 1990s, where he helped secure several age-group titles, before moving into the senior teams and eventually captaining the 1st XI. As far as we know, Paul remains the only 1st XI captain to secure a league and cup double, achieved in 1998 🏆🏆.

A swing bowler who regularly opened from the Myrtle End, Paul gave countless years of service to Meanwood before his career with the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United, and now Middlesbrough FC took him away from the club.

Congratulations Paul – a fantastic cricketer, captain and clubman, and a worthy addition to the Hall of Fame! 💚🤍

Massive congratulations to our U15s star who hit a fantastic 101 runs for our second team on Saturday, his second century in senior cricket.

What an absolute joy it has been to run another programme this year. This group of girls have been amazing for the last 8 weeks whose enthusiasm for playing cricket has been infectious. None of this would have been possible with our incredible coaching team: Alex, Jenny, Kam, Anne and Syma. Thank you, thank you, thank you. . .
