Tyersal Albion’s first competitive game after a “light” pre season ended in a 6-4 win against one of the league favourites Zenk Sports in the Yorkshire & District Saturday Morning League.

The performance was one to be proud of against a young, fit side with great ability on the ball. Character and winning the high ball at front and back was key to the win. We looked clinical first half with a brace for Clayton, Wilkins and Jordan Missin making it 6-2 HT.

It was always going to be a tough second half with the opposition being younger and fitter, but we had that grit and experience to see the game through. Excellent performances across the back line, but MOM goes to the legend Danial Softley… absolute beast at this level and set up most of the goals.

It’s with a heavy heart but optimistic outlook that we are folding the name that has been Mosaic FC since 2007. We will be transitioning to be involved with Tyersal Football Club being based in the Bradford area. We haven’t really been linked with Mosaic church for some years now, but the name has remained.

I don’t know where to start thanks to all that have been involved. Liam Madden for leading the team to multiple trophies and creating a collaborative, enjoyable team environment, Matthew Keating and James Moore for developing a team that players were keen to join every season, Andrew Mason for being a leader and solid captain later years and Jimi Elliott for showing the passion to keep the team marching forwards in later years. Armley Ccfc, Morley Bridge Street FC and Bowling Eagles FC amongst others for being superb rivals over the years. The battles on the pitch and friendship off have been what makes it worthwhile.

We will remain in the Yorkshire & District Saturday Morning League for the seasons to come as Tyersal Albion FC. If anyone has any photos to share feel free to do so. Contact Liam Madden, Jimi Elliott or this page should you want to join the club for the coming season. 🥹🎉🙏⚽️

9-0 win vs Sporting Jubodhol to start our cup retention off to a good start.

Looked good from the off playing some lovely stuff. Liam C scoring a brilliant hattrick first half with some top finishes. Joe W getting a goal and having one disallowed from CB. Went in 4-0 at HT and in control.

All 5 subs coming on at HT as had a top bench and struggled to pick 11 today. Was highlighted with Liam C scoring 2 more and then 3 out of 5 subs banging goals.

Bossed the midfield with some great performances and could have been more than it was.

We move onto next week which is the biggest game of our season and has been for years. Bowling Eagles FC at home. We can’t wait.

MOM - Liam Carroll with some amazing goals. Credit to Lewis Carroll who is such a good influence on the team and leads by example.

Thumbs up all round other than Kent

We’re out to retain our cup vs Sporting Jubodhol this Saturday. We’ve looked strong so far this season (and pre-season) with some wins on the bounce.

Mosaic have won 2 and been in 4 finals of this cup in the past 4 seasons, so it means a lot to us.

We’ve no idea what to expect from the opposition, but can’t wait to play. Come along and watch for what I’m sure will be a great game.

Up the Mosaic ❤️⚽️🔥

100% win record continues for Mosaic in the Yorkshire & District Saturday Morning League.

2-0 win against a very good Old Farnley side in poor conditions.

Everyone put in a real shift throughout and looked organised as ever.

Goals - Clayton and Liam Carroll.

MOM - C Balmforth

Mosaic vs St Wilfrid's FC today to open our campaign in the Yorkshire & District Saturday Morning League.

Always going to be tough against a team we know well. It was a difficult first half with us missing a good few chances or just not getting that bit of luck to go 1-0 up.

Sub Nico came on at HT to make a difference with an excellent finish to put it too far out of reach from the top keeper that Wilfs have had for years.

Liam C came back on to get on the end of an excellent through ball (clearance) by Madden to make it 2-0.

Tough start, but job done for us. All results looked tight on the opening weekend which is great for the league, we can’t wait to go again.

Thanks so much to Wilfs for coming back to the pub afterwards… what it’s all about.

MOM - Captain and Vice Captain Manners and Shire led by example as always battling for everything, but MOM goes to new signing Andy Clisham, he won everything in the air and was so composed travelling out with the ball from CB. Excellent stuff.

Mosaic have no game tomorrow, but hopefully back at it next Wednesday.

We played Wednesday against Westwood Park who are an excellent side from Bradford Sunday Alliance Football League Premier Division. They dominated the opening half hour going 2-0 up.

A good few Mosaic players late due to work and traffic but once we got settled, we came into the game.

3-2 win for Mosaic after a good second half showing. Good luck to Westwood in the season ahead. No doubt they’ll have a top season.

Mosaic FC decided on a new badge as seen in the photo. Yessss Shire

Energised following positive training sessions the last few weeks, we went into our first friendly game rusty but confident.

3-0 win against new team Whetley Ln FC. They battled for every ball and we wish them all the best for the season ahead.

Good first run out and the mood is good ahead of our next few games.
