MFM Yorkshire are back in action this Sunday as we travel to Pontefract Collieries FC again, this time to face new opposition in Yorkshire Elite Football Club - Charity Team.

Kick off is at the later time of 6pm, the lads will be looking for a positive result after defeat last time out🩷

Firstly, a massive thank you to The Lower League Podcast for organising the game, and cranfieldunitedfc for being brilliant hosts.

Early counts show that, with both sets of match fees, the raffle and donations, just shy of £1,000 has been raised for Mind. 🙌

Scoreline probably flatters us slightly, but that’s the benefit of having a lot of this group now playing together since we formed in 2021.

Apparently that makes us a South Mids superteam. 😂

In reality, it’s a group of lads who have been playing together for 5 years, across different clubs and different levels, who come together for Men For Mind FC and a cause that matters much more than any result.

It was a tough Sunday afternoon for MFM Yorkshire this past weekend, as we fell to a 5-4 defeat to Yorkshire Athletic Charity.

The lads never stopped throughout the 90 minutes. In warm conditions and after a number of late withdrawals left us with only two substitutes, everyone put in a massive shift. It was a battling performance, and it was a shame to lose it late on💔

We’ll be back in action in September 💛


Sundays MOTM went to Morgan Cowell, who returned for his first game since his marathon run. He capped a fine performance across the front line with two goals, including a calmly taken penalty to make it 4-4 👏
