Saturday’s Rising Stars gala was one to remember, we had a record number of swimmers entered!
The heat didn’t slow anyone down and the swimmers delivered brilliant performances.
None of it would have happened without the volunteers who kept everything running smoothly and the parents who gave up their hot Saturday night to cheer from the stands.

We're pleased to confirm that entries are now open for the Airedale & Wharfedale Swimming Gala 2, taking place on Saturday 9th May at Aireborough Leisure Centre, Guiseley, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.

🚧 Important notice about pool viewing this week

The leisure centre is carrying out some work which will temporarily restrict access to the usual viewing areas.

🏊‍♀️ Small Pool 🏊‍♂️

• The windows and bridge viewing areas are closed.
• The leisure centre has allowed parents of small pool swimmers to attend poolside this week.
• For health & safety reasons we can only allow up to 6 parents poolside, so please follow the large pool viewing guidance where possible.

🏊‍♀️ Large Pool 🏊‍♂️

• The viewing balcony is still open, but access is via the fire escape only.
• Drop your swimmer off as normal, then leave the building and walk around the front (opposite the play park) and up the far side of the building. The fire escape door is located there.
• Parents of small pool swimmers can get a partial view of the small pool from the lower balcony area near the changing room entrance.
• Please do not leave the premises while your swimmer is in the session.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience. The leisure centre has confirmed the work will be completed by Friday and it won’t affect the gala this Saturday. Thank you for your patience 🙏

We are now taking entries for the Rising Stars Gala on Saturday 25th April at Aireborough Leisure Centre, Start time 5pm.

For this gala swimmers must be aged between 8 and 14 inclusive on the day of the gala.
Rising Stars Galas are intended to be friendly introduction galas aimed at swimmers who may have never competed before, or are competing in local/club competitions but have not yet got through the journey to making finals or winning events. There are entry restrictions placed on Rising Stars Galas which aim to give the less experienced swimmers a better chance. Please see the attachment for the Qualifying times (swimmers must not have swum faster than these times)

Great evening at the Airedale & Wharfedale Swimming Gala tonight at Aireborough Leisure Centre 🏊‍♂️

We had 26 swimmers competing, and they all swam brilliantly, well done everyone!

Thanks as always to the parents cheering from the stands, and a big thank you to our volunteer Gala Team who put in the work behind the scenes to make these events happen for the club. 👏
