PICNIC IN THE PARK IS THIS SUNDAY! ☀️🏏

It’s nearly time! We’re looking forward to welcoming CSWCC members and their guests to Picnic in the Park this Sunday, 30 August from 12 noon.

Members are invited to bring their family and friends as their guests and enjoy a lovely afternoon together at the club.

There’ll be plenty going on:

🍔 BBQ
🍰 Cakes
🎨 Face painting
🎟️ Tombola
🛍️ Stalls
🎉 PLUS, the Big Summer Raffle will be drawn at 6pm!

Most importantly, we’ll be raising money towards a new roller for the club, so every bit of support really does make a difference.

A tough weekend. 🏏

The 1st XI hosted top-of-the-table Rawdon on Saturday. Rawdon - winning the toss and electing to field first - limited Calverley to 147, with Riaz’s 91 making up for a large portion of the score. Rawdon were able to chase down the target in 40.2 overs, losing 6 wickets.

Meanwhile, the 2nd XI travelled to Bingley Congregationals, where Captain Verma won the toss and sent the hosts out to bat first. Bingley were able to set a strong target of 224, which ultimately proved too high for Calverley, who fell for 95.

The Saturday 3rd XI played Cookridge at Horsforth Vale, batting first and setting a respectable target of 164, thanks to 57 not out from Shaw, 38 from Topham and 24 from Hewitt. Strong spells from Hillyard (3/19) and Boden (2/12) gave The Owls the victory! 🦉

On Sunday, the 3rd’s travelled to Adel where they were previously victorious in the cup. Captain Gregory (finally) won the toss and elected to bat first. Calverley struggled to really get off the mark, falling for 152. Adel were able to chase down the runs in 31.2 overs, losing just 2 wickets.
