🌟Leeds Esprit Christmas Fundraiser! 🌟

Because 2020 has been a year like no other we would love to do something Christmassy to bring everyone together! So we have organised a Zoom Christmas family quiz and a virtual raffle!

We have been kindly donated so many amazing prizes, and would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has made a donation.

Because Christmas will be a little bit different at gym this year we are planning a zoom Christmas family quiz and an online raffle 😄 More details to come about this very soon!

Because we can’t have our normal raffle donations we were wondering if anyone could kindly donate a voucher type prize as we know we have been lucky to receive these in the past 🙂 If you are able to donate a prize, it would be great if you could pm or get in touch by email with any details.

Following the approval of the lockdown legislation in Parliament today we have received further clarification on these restrictions for gymnastics.

It is with regret that following conversations with Government, British Gymnastics can now confirm that from tomorrow, 5th November, gymnastics clubs in England must close until 2nd December.

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and Department of Education (DfE) have clarified that ‘supervised activity for children’ is allowed only in relation to childcare necessary to enable parents to:

• work or search for work
• undertake training or education

Full details of the childcare exemptions are available on the Gov.UK website along with the full national restrictions. The DCMS have confirmed general sports provision for children cannot continue to run and all other out of school activities, not being primarily used by parents for childcare purposes, should close for face-to-face provision for the duration of the national restrictions.

We’re developing a new set of FAQs and will make this available on our website as soon as possible.

We are deeply sorry, this is not the news we wanted to have to share with you this evening, and we know many of you had hoped for a last-minute reprieve. We want to ensure sports clubs and facilities can survive the challenging times ahead and we will continue to support the call for a Sports Recovery Fund.

We will wait for further clarification from British Gymnastics with regards to the new lockdown starting on Thursday, then will be in touch with you all with further information 😊

We’re aware tonight’s government announcement of a full lockdown, starting from Thursday for the month of November in England, will be very worrying for everyone. We are going to take some time to understand the full details of the announcement.

We’ll communicate a full update as soon as we have details of the impact on gymnastics.
