If you thought yesterday’s post was special... Rory has only gone and repeated the feat! 🤯⚡

Making history in the Leeds & Wetherby League U10 representative games, he’s smashed ✨BACK-TO-BACK CENTURIES✨ in consecutive days! To make today’s century even sweeter, he did it on his home ground at Colton! 🏡🔥

And he didn't stop with the bat either—Rory chipped in with 3 great wickets with the ball to cap off a brilliant individual performance. 🏏👏

But above all, this was a fantastic team effort! A massive shout out to the five other Colton lads repping the league side today and yesterday. Every single one of them stepped up, put in a brilliant shift, and played a huge role in securing another incredible victory!

An unforgettable couple of days for Rory, and a huge well done to all six of our boys doing the club proud! 👏👏

What an unbelievable day for one of our junior superstars Rory Williams 🤯🏏🎉🤯🏏🎉

Captaining the Leeds & Wetherby Junior Cricket League U10 side Rory smashed his way to a magnificent 109 not out off 68 balls.

His maiden century coming at representative level and aged only 10 years old!! 🤯 .

Needless to say it was a match winning knock which secured his side a win against a strong York league side.

Rory wasn’t actually done for the day either and went straight to our u11s reds match and managed a top score of 28no… a combined 137 not out for the day, not a bad days work aged 10 🤯😂👊🏏

Rory will lead his rep team out again tomorrow in the second match of the week long Yorkshire junior cricket festival vs Huddersfield league at his home ground!!!

A busy day of away games for the Colton Cricket Club women's teams wgile our home ground was hosting some fantastic junior cricket! The 1st team had a narrow loss to Morley and the second team were beaten by Leeds Caribbean but everyone's had a great time. We had a club first with 3 mother daughter combos playing today (not forgetting an auntie completing the family feel!). Well done everyone!

🏆 ELMET EVENING LEAGUE CHAMPIONS! 🏆
​What a night it was last night at Colton CC! Our First Senior XI claimed their first piece of silverware of the season in spectacular fashion, defeating South Milford CC in the Elmet Evening League Play-Off Grand Final! 🥇🏏

​Here is the official match write-up from Captain Harry Sutton:

🏏​Colton CC took on South Milford CC in the Elmet evening league play-off final.
​South Milford won the toss and elected to bat on what appeared to be a good pitch in sunny conditions. Colton started with a couple of early wickets from Tom Glover and Tom Dixon, but a steady partnership began to form between Milford’s number 3 and 4. Colton stuck to their plans with disciplined bowling from Dan Johnson, Nigel Danby and Sufiyan Ahmed through the middle overs. A strong finish featuring a double wicket maiden from Dixon in the 17th over meant South Milford finished on a par score of 149.

🏏​Colton began quickly with the bat, with Jamie Sutton and Conor Brown striking 27 from the first 3 overs. After Sutton fell caught on the boundary, Danby and Brown built a 62 partnership from 46 balls, putting Colton on target for their chase. Despite both batsmen falling in quick succession, Kian England, joined by Dixon, saw the hosts home with a destructive 60 partnership from just 22 balls, launching balls out of the ground.​Colton cruised to victory with 5 overs to spare and plenty left in the shed, picking up their first piece of silverware of the season.🏆 🏏♥️

🏏 **WHAT A WEEK FOR THE 1ST XI!** 🏏

The lads have been absolutely flying, putting in some massive performances as we head into the business end of the season. Here is a quick roundup of a brilliant week!

💥 Friday Night: Stunner at Dunnington!

Last Friday, we travelled to face Dunnington CC (current holders of both the T20 Cup and the Hundred Cup) in front of a lively crowd of over 100 people. After winning the toss and bowling first, the lads put on an absolute clinic:

🏏The Bowling & Fielding: Harry Sutton claimed the massive wicket of Irosh Samarasooriya (who already has 900 runs this year!). Harry and Jamie Sutton took 3 wickets apiece, with Tom Dixon, Prabath Jayaweera, and Tom Glover keeping it incredibly tight.

🏏Kian England was a livewire in the field, executing two brilliant run-outs to help restrict Dunnington to 149 all out!

🏏The Chase: After an early wicket, Prabath Jayaweera walked out to the tune of *Pink Pony Club* from the DJ box. Little did they know, that song acts like spinach to Popeye for Prabath!He and Conor proceeded to launch the ball into several different York postcodes. Prabath smashed an unbeaten 76 off just 35 balls (5 sixes, 9 fours), while Conor hit a rapid 44 off 29 balls (2 sixes, 6 fours). Nigel Danby (12*) saw us over the line with Prabath to chase it down in just 13.3 overs!

Going in as underdogs and coming away with an emphatic 8-wicket win is a massive achievement!

📅 FINALS DAY: Mark your calendars! Finals day is on Sunday 16th August at Woodhouse Grange. Semi-final at 11:00 AM, with a potential final around 3:00 PM..

🏆 Saturday Grit: Win vs Bolton Percy
We carried that momentum straight into Saturday's league clash.
🏏Bolton Percy chose to bat but our bowlers rolled them out for just 70 runs in 28.2 overs.
It was a tense chase on a tricky deck, but the lads dug deep to finish on 71/8 in 16.1 overs, securing a hard-fought 2-wicket victory and a massive 10 points!

The big games just keep coming. Tomorrow (Thursday) evening, the 1st XI face South Milfordin the Seniors Mid-Week Grand Final!

🏆 U11 REDS ARE CUP CHAMPIONS! 🏆

What an great cup final! Huge congratulations to our incredible U11s on a fantastic win against a strong Barwick side today. 🏏🔥

The boys bowled, batted, and fielded brilliantly from the very first over. Barwick pushed us all the way and put up a massive fight, but our boys showed incredible composure under pressure to bring the trophy home!

This silverware is the perfect reward for how they’ve played all season. Beyond the runs and the wickets, what makes this group truly special is their amazing team bond and unbeatable team spirit. They back each other up on the pitch, celebrate each other's success, and play as a real unit. 🤝❤️

A massive thank you to all the parents, coaches, and supporters who cheered the boys on to victory.

🏏A brilliant double senior victory for both the 1st and 2nd XI today! 🏏

​The 1st XI cruised to a fantastic 8-wicket win over Bilton In Ainsty CC, clinical in chasing down 152 in just 20.1 overs. The run chase was made to look easy thanks to two brilliant half-centuries, with both Rhys and Ben raising their bats for 50s!👏👏

​Meanwhile, the 2nd XI secured a thrilling 23-run victory over Crossgates, defending a total of 133 with some absolutely great moments.

Nick Thackray was clinical with the ball, tearing through the lineup to finish with career-best figures of 8 wickets for 55 runs! 🔥

​And it was an extra special day for the Raina family! Young Arnay Raina played a brilliant innings playing alongside his dad, finishing 52 not out to claim his first-ever senior fifty! 🏏✨

🏆 THE CUP STAYS AT COLTON! THREE IN A ROW FOR THE U9 REDS! 🏆

​Huge congratulations to the Colton Cricket Club U9 Reds, who have successfully defended the cup for the club for the third consecutive season! 🏏🏏🏏

They put together a brilliant, dominant run in the cup, which resulted in tonight's fantastic win against Collingham, who played very well.
