Thoughts??

At LS-TEN we are looking to provide support to working parents as school closures are imposed.

We will continue to work with the young people on role with our education programmes both onsite and off-site as required.

We will also be delivering Get Active Extreme Camps for children aged 5-15 years old. A mix of sports, games, arts and craft. Safe, engaging and fun for all the children missing out on their education.

All staff are qualified coaches or educators, have DBS certificates and up to date safeguarding and First Aid training.

Along with this package supporting parents and children it will help LS-TEN skatepark survive these challenging times.

As times change and the situation evolves we may have to close this service.

Hi All

We has received notification from the local authority that we are highly unlikely to receive any funding to run activity camps at the Dennis Healey Centre at least during the early stages of 2020 but possibly throughout.

We have been informed that they will be looking to have other groups deliver activities in the centre but we don't have any information on this.

We firstly want to say thank you for all of those that have attended activity camps with us at the Dennis Healey Centre over the past few years. Secondly thank you to the local councillors and local authority staff that have supported all LS-TEN Camps through 2019.

we wanted to check if there was a desire from people to want to continue to access LS-TEN Get Active Camps.

We currently run the Get Active Extreme Camps at LS-TEN Skatepark through school holidays which runs at £22.50 a day or £100 for the week. These camps are full on wheeled sports all day. Generally focussed on children over 8 years old with the odd exception.

What we are wondering is, if there would be an appetite for Get Active Camps to continue to run?

We are exploring the option to run Get Active side by side with Get Active Extreme Camps to still include multi-sports, arts and craft and remain available to younger children. We are looking at the option to provide a pick up and drop off model from Seacroft Tescos with pick up at 0900 and drop off 1530.
There would be a max number of 15 children a day at a cost of £16 a day or £70 a week.

We appreciate this is a big jump from previous camp costs but this is due to the lack of funding and the need to cover cost of staffing, facility, equipment and transport.

If there is not likely to be 15 a day as a minimum then we wouldn't be able to deliver the service at that price as we have to cover costs.

Obviously if this is not something that people would be interested in we completely understand and will not put anything in place.

Again thank you for making the previous camps such a success, I know the teams that have worked on the camps have had great experiences and are gutted to see them discontinued.

All the best

Carl
