Headingley Golf Club Founded in 1892 Headingley is the oldest golf club in Leeds, set on the edge of the beautiful suburb of Adel 5 miles from the centre of Leeds. C**t.

😍 All round top golf club. The course was laid out and shaped in the early 20th Century by a number of eminent architects including Dr Alistair MacKenzie and Harry S. In a completely rural setting the course enjoys many wonderful views and boasts many memorable holes which make full use of the varied and dramatic terrain. Although the course is presented in a traditional style it has also been improved to meet modern standards and therefore will appeal to purists and modern golfers alike. Headingley has a wonderful friendly reputation and you can be assured of a warm welcome.

⛳ DID YOU KNOW? WE’RE THE OLDEST GOLF CLUB IN LEEDS! 🏌️‍♂️

That’s right! Headingley Golf Club has been part of Leeds’ golfing history since 1892, making us the oldest golf club in the city! 🏆

Our story began on 29th October 1892, when the first members teed it up on a nine-hole course at Spen Lane, on what is now Beckett Park.

In 1906, we moved to our present home in Adel, where our course went on to be shaped by some of the most famous names in golf course architecture, including Dr Alister MacKenzie, who later designed Augusta National, and Harry C**t.

And here’s another fascinating bit of history… a Roman road actually runs through our golf course! 🏛️

134 years of golfing heritage, and still going strong!

We’re incredibly proud of our history, but just as proud of the fantastic golf course and welcoming club we have today.

Whether you’ve been a member for decades or have yet to experience Headingley, you’re part of a golfing story that stretches back further than any other club in Leeds.

The course is looking fantastic today, with beautifully manicured greens, pristine approaches and superb definition throughout. 👌🌿

It’s great to see the attention to detail really shining through, with the contrast between the different playing surfaces making the course look even more impressive.

A huge credit to our greenkeeping team for their continued hard work in presenting the course to such a high standard! 👏

⛳🎓 A NEW PARTNERSHIP AT HEADINGLEY GOLF CLUB!

We’re proud to announce that Headingley Golf Club is the new home course for the University of Leeds Golf Team! 💙💛💚

We’re delighted to welcome the University’s golfers to Headingley, with the Club hosting their home match fixtures throughout the season.

And the partnership gets underway TODAY! 🏌️‍♂️

The University of Leeds kick off their season with two home fixtures:

🏌️ 1st Team vs Liverpool John Moores 1st Team

🏌️ 2nd Team vs Durham 4th Team

It’s fantastic to be supporting university golf and providing a home venue for the next generation of golfers to compete and develop their game.

A warm welcome to everyone involved with , and best of luck to both teams in today’s matches!

Headingley Golf Club is looking absolutely stunning as we head further into autumn. 🍁

Beautiful autumn colours, lush green fairways and a course in fantastic condition make this a wonderful time of year to be out playing golf.

A huge credit to our greenkeeping team for their continued hard work in keeping the course looking and playing so well.

⛳ All set for a fantastic day at Headingley Golf Club!

A stunning view down the 10th hole this morning as the course is looking superb and ready to welcome members for today’s Captain vs Vice Captain Match. 🏌️‍♂️

With a 1pm sh***un start, we’re looking forward to a great afternoon of golf, friendly rivalry and plenty of competitive spirit out on the course!

Following the golf, we’ll be hosting our 2026 Annual Prize Giving from approximately 5:45pm, celebrating the achievements and successes of our members throughout the season. 🏆

A fitting way to round off another fantastic golfing season at Headingley!

DID YOU SPOT US ON TV TONIGHT? 👀⛳

Headingley Golf Club made an appearance on ITV’s Emmerdale this evening with our very own locker room featured in a scene during tonight’s episode! 🎬

It was fantastic to welcome the cast and crew to the Club recently for filming, and great to finally see Headingley on the small screen!
