We had a fantastic time at our RIBA Yorkshire Small and Emerging Practice Network workshop hosted by yesterday.

Members explored digital fabrication in action, from laser cutting and 3D printing to the CNC machine – and even personalised their own laptop stands to take home.

A huge thank you to Duke Makes for showcasing how design and technology come together in such creative and practical ways, and to everyone who joined us for an inspiring evening of learning and networking.

We had a fantastic time at our SEP Network workshop hosted by yesterday.

🔷 Dyslexia Awareness Week | 6–12 October 2025 | Raise the Volume

Around 1 in 10 people are dyslexic, and within the Architecture industry, that figure may be even higher. This week is a chance to consider how we support colleagues with dyslexia and celebrate the strengths they bring to the workplace.

💬 “Creating a supportive work culture is key,” says Jane Craig, Founding Director of Dyslexia Sparks. “Talking to dyslexic employees, asking them about what they see as their strengths, as well as areas which might bring them more challenge, is a great way to develop understanding.”

💬 Thanks to Luke Sach, Associate Architect at DLa Architecture and President of the Leeds Society of Architects, who shared how dyslexia has shaped his career:
“Having dyslexia allows me to step outside of the conventional, linear ways of thinking." says Luke. "I have found big strengths of mine are problem solving, spatial design and being able to think outside of the box."

Let’s use this week to:

✅ Celebrate the value of different thinkers
✅ Build inclusive workplaces
