Foot-Tech offers children's football coaching in Leeds for boys and girls aged 2-17 that will give your child a completely new football training experience.

Founded in 2014 by an experienced professional football coach and a successful primary school teacher, we originally set out to create the next Messi or Ronaldo…but we quickly realised those two are from another planet!

What we did find was that we could use children's football training for so much more. Parents spoke to us about their real concerns for their children – health, making friends an

"The gold standard."

That's how one of our parents described Foot-Tech in a recent Google review, and it's exactly what we aim for, every session, every week.

This September, over 150 children are coming to try a session with us for the first time.

We believe every child deserves a place to play, whatever their ability. If your child wants to play, we will find a place for them.

Our goal is simple. We want as many children as possible across Leeds learning and playing football, having fun, building confidence and falling in love with the game.

If that sounds like your child, head to our website and book a taster session, link in bio

Technically, he was one of the good ones. He still got released, because of the his size.

We had a parent come to us with exactly this recently. A 13 year old, technically very good, let go for size and strength, nothing to do with his football.

The instinct every parent has is the same. Get him in the gym. Get him one-to-ones. Make him bigger and faster.

Here’s the trade off.

Yes, he might get stronger and faster. But there’s no guarantee that transfers to the pitch.

Strength in a squat rack does not mean they’ll become a better footballer.

And while he’s chasing that, he’s losing out on the thing that actually helps him in the long term:

⚽️ His football intelligence
⚽️ His decision making
⚽️ His football technique

That only comes from proper football training.

There’s also puberty to think about.

Puberty hits every child at a different time. In 12 months his whole physical profile could look completely different, and the football brain he’s built in the meantime doesn’t disappear…IF he continues to play and train for football instead of swapping football for other things.

Some kids just need a bit more time instead of being let go too early.

We talk through what we’d actually do in this situation and the advice we gave on this month’s episode of our podcast.

Took this clip the other day at camp, and it got me thinking about our childhood during the six-week holidays when we'd be outside playing for hours on end.

It's that thing and sort of ‘feeling’ that we are very passionate about, because it's just something that we don't see anymore with today's children (rightly or wrongly).

It's a big reason we structure our camps the way we do and why we try to stay outdoors as much as possible. It's so important for kids.

This clip epitomises what we try to do: as many kids as possible being active, playing with other children, outdoors, enjoying themselves, making memories for when they're 40 year old looking back on how they spent their school holidays.

That's a wrap for our camps for Summer 2026.

As always, we want to say a massive thank you to Roundhay Primary for hosting us. We love being there. Thanks for always being so accommodating.

Thank you to all the parents for choosing us and the children who've come along. It's been great to see so many familiar faces, as well as welcome plenty of new ones. We hope you've all enjoyed it.

Biggest thanks goes to our unbelievable coaching team.

We love coaching children, and we love doing these camps.

But to continuously keep the energy levels high and enthusiasm high every hour of every day (when you're also dealing with things like heat waves and random thunderstorms!), comes with its challenges!

Thankfully that’s not a problem for our team. We have a group of people who are not only excellent football coaches, they're also fantastic humans who love what they do, and it shows.

It's also been great to introduce some of our younger trainee coaches to the camps as part of their training. They brought a new energy, and it's been amazing to see them develop in just such a short space of time.

Thanks to you all for making this one of our biggest ever summers.

Our camps will be back for October.

Again, thank you so much for choosing us ⚽️

Today some of our team spent the day updating our first aid training ⛑️

We always use Mini First Aid for our courses and highly recommend them.

Always delivered really well with plenty of practical examples of what to do in different situations.

Hope we never ever have to use any of what we learn but we do things like this to make sure we’re prepared and can provide a safe place for the children we coach.

Fewer than half of children in England meet the recommended 60 minutes of activity a day.

That's most of a generation growing up more sedentary than they should be.

And it matters beyond football and fitness.

Children who are active are shown to be more resilient, more likely to keep trying when something's hard and to have better wellbeing than children who are less active.

Your child doesn't need to be obsessed with football.

They don't need to be the best player on the pitch.

They just need somewhere to move, play and be a kid, whether they're just starting out or already love the game.

That's why we build every session around getting them moving and developing a life-long passion for being active.

If you fancy giving your child that hour of movement, we run taster sessions across North and East Leeds ⚽️

Last month we launched a new plan to give more of our players the opportunity to work more closely with their favourite coaches.

Some of our players have had a private session with their coach and we've had some great feedback from parents. It's already easy to see the impact it can have when it comes to things like confidence and enjoyment.

🗣 'Hi
Jake had a 121 with Conner on Friday and Becky yesterday morning just wanted to pass on my thanks to them both! These 121's are such a fab idea to add onto normal sessions. Conner and Becky were so good with him made it so much fun. They both did different things with him so this was great he learnt so much. They are so patient and make learning so much fun he can't wait to book some more in. They totally get Jake and can communicate and guide him in such a positive way he listens to them as doesn't listen to our advice at home 😂He really really enjoyed them massive thanks to them both for being just great as always!
Thanks
Stacey'

One to one coaching is often miss-sold as a magic wand that kids needs to get better at football.

Truth is, the biggest improvements we see come from good quality group coaching BUT one to ones have their place and of course there are improvements that are made on the football side but they are certainly powerful when it comes to things like connection with a coach, confidence-building, self-belief and helping kids fall more in love with football.

Plus it's way more fun than kids just doing their individual reps at home by themselves.

Foot-Tech parents, if you've missed the info we sent about this just drop us a line. We're aiming to open up more spots in September ⚽️
