Foot-Tech offers children's football coaching in Leeds for boys and girls aged 2-17 that will give your child a completely new football training experience.

Founded in 2014 by an experienced professional football coach and a successful primary school teacher, we originally set out to create the next Messi or Ronaldo…but we quickly realised those two are from another planet!

What we did find was that we could use children's football training for so much more. Parents spoke to us about their real concerns for their children – health, making friends an

Every kid when a coach shouts SCAN 🤣

Telling a child to scan doesn't teach them to scan.

Scanning has to be a natural consequence of the environment you create.

When the session is designed right children learn to scan because the game demands it.

That's way more powerful for learning and way more effective in actually getting them to do it naturally.

➡️ Want 10 games we use to develop scanning along with some coaching points and technical breakdown?

Half term is a week away and if you're still figuring out what to do with the kids, this one's for you.

Our May half term camp runs Tuesday 26th to Friday 29th May at Roundhay Primary School.

We know what half term can feel like as a parent.

The boredom sets in fast then the screens come out. The 'I've got nothing to do' starts earlier than you'd think.

Our camp isn't babysitting. It's four days of purposeful, planned, genuinely fun football that kids talk about on the way home.

Don't take our word for it. Here's what parents say:

🗣 "My son was very nervous about going to a new place. He came home gushing about what a great time he'd had. He's looking forward to going again."

🗣 "Year after year my boys return. The coaches are brilliant with the kids from the minute they arrive to when they leave. Keep up the great work."

That's what we're proud of. Not just keeping kids busy but giving them something they actually want to come back to.

Ages 4 to 14. Small groups. Great coaches. Non stop football.

Piloting the new 3v3 format ⚽️

Last week we helped with an event to showcase how the new 3v3 format will work for next season.

It was a chance for grassroots clubs to come and see how a typical 3v3 fixture will work and it was great to see how well it all ran.

Kids seemed to love it and we look forward to seeing how the new format will help development and enjoyment over the coming years 💪

If your child is still playing football in their late 20s, you've won as a football parent.

Not a trophy at 10. Not an academy trial at 12.

Still playing and still loving it years from now.

That's the real goal.

And it doesn't happen by accident.

It's built over years of being in the right environment. With the right coaches. With the right attitude around them.

Kids don't quit football because they aren't talented enough.

They quit because it stopped being enjoyable.

Everything we do at Foot-Tech is built around keeping children in football for the long term. We believe that should be the aim for anyone involved in children's football.

Not just making better players for now but people who love the game for life ⚽️

If your child is good enough, they will be found ⚽️

When I was growing up the academy felt like a mythical thing. You barely knew anyone who'd been in one.

That's now changed completely.

Clubs now have more scouts at more games than ever. They run development centres. They contact grassroots coaches directly. Grassroots teams get invited to play against academy sides.

The opportunities to be seen have never been greater.

So please, don't choose where your child trains based on who might be watching or which clubs a business claims to have links to.

Be wary of any coaching business whose main selling point is getting your child scouted.

The main thing should be the coaching. The environment. The development.

Selling a dream to a parent is easy. But that dream rarely comes with a receipt.

Put your child in the right environment. Let them enjoy their football and it'll take care of itself ⚽️

What do you think - has the pathway to academies changed?

My child plays for a team - do they need extra sessions?

Is a question we get asked a lot.

Team training can be brilliant for what it's designed for and it gives children exposure to real matches.

But it isn't always designed around individual development.

The more time a child spends with the ball making decisions, trying things, problem solving in real game situations the faster they improve.

Extra sessions don't replace team training but they can be a great supplement to it.

More time with the ball and more chances to try things without the pressures that can come with a team environment.

And for some kids it's simpler than that.

They just want a place that's about them. Not the team result. Not who starts on Sunday. Just football, mates and getting better.

Both are 2 of the main reasons people join us.

We have sessions available across North and East Leeds for ages 2-14.

Drop us a DM or click the link in bio and we can find the right session for your child. ⚽️

This is what 4+ years at Foot-Tech looks like...

Last weekend 2 of our members celebrated big milestones with us and as part of that, they unlock one of our best loyalty prizes.

A private AirPitch football tournament for them and up to 11 of their mates 🤩

This is our way of saying well done and celebrating such a long time of consistent training and positive attiude.

Our aim is to not only create better footballers to create amazing experiences for the children who come to Foot-Tech.

Well done to Edie and Teddy 👏

Does ball mastery = football mastery?

Cones don't tackle. They don't close you down. They don't force you to make a decision under pressure.

If your child spends hours dribbling around cones they get really good at one thing...

Dribbling around cones.

The same applies for unopposed ball mastery work.

12 years ago our sessions looked like this - skills, tricks unopposed ball mastery.

Then we asked ourselves whether any of it was showing up in games.

It wasn't.

So we changed everything.

Now every session is opposed. Every activity looks and feels like football. Because that's the only way to actually get better at it.

Save this if it made you think differently ⚽️
